Do you feel you have done something in the game that could never happen in the real world? Joey Arone checks in today with his first article discussing sometimes, truth is stranger than fiction.

Well written, and welcome to OS. I disagree with your premise that making the impossible possible in sports gaming is dependent on the programming of the developers. I would contend that the impossible is made possible in sports video gaming more often than not as a result of the "skill" of the gamers, especially in human v human matchups. Your point is well taken in regards to Human v. CPU matchups more so than in human v. human matchups.

My buddy intercepted me and was running for a TD return at the end of the game to defeat me, but my corner chased him down and went for a tackle and knocked the ball lose at the 1. It tumbled out the back of the endzone for a touchback. Great stuff... He blames the video game for BS, but I say it's great that a random event like that occurred.

I love unexpected randomness. The only problem is when the randomness occurs as something that is out of the users control. Hence why I believe madden keeps the penalties to a minimum, because it is something the user has no control over, giving them reason to blame the game for being stupid.
