Madden 09 Quick Patch #2 Update From EA

I have been waiting to start my franchise, but I am not going to wait anymore. They said we shouldn't have to restart so i am going to take their word for it and get one going tomorrow morning.

As long as you go with unchanged rosters you should be fine. Any player you edit in any way, has to be edited again after the patch, to make improvement working.

Thats what Phil said in another thread. So, I guess I have to wait, because I applied a lot of changes to Update #3. So many, I didnt even remember all

Same boat. Downloaded rosters need edits, and any player you edit will need to be edited again after the patch. I really have no interest in that. Ive started a franchise with my friends (I rarely play alone in franchise) and the lock ups prevent us from getting very far. Saving the franchise and restarting my machine between each game (which is the work around they gave us) is not really an option when it takes 4 games to get through each week.

Virex just save your franchise after your done playing one game and then back out of franchise and go back in. You don't have to reboot your machine or totally shut Madden down. Never have I received a freeze.

Maybe I misunderstood when the workaround said "restart". I still have no desire to do even that 4 times just to pass one week. Thats assuming we can even get through a whole game. I replayed the first game week one 3 times before I got through it. Not to mention that the progression will still be screwed up. Not much of a franchise if you cant progress young players.

Ive learned my lesson. I will refrain from buying Madden and NCAA until patches are released that give us what we are paying for. Its kind of sad that both games were released requiring patches before they were actually playable.
