Do you need the first patch if you don't play online? I have lanterix's first set of rosters from a month ago and I could play offline dynasty's with names. The first patch is basically for roster purposes. I don't know that it will touch gameplay. Someone would have to confirm that it won't affect gameplay.

Its not supposed to affect gameplay but it IS a needed patch for both offline and online. It fixes the auto re-order depth chart as well as the edit and roster locker glitch. I'm using Lanterix's roster as well and this patch won't do much for me either. Patch #2 is easily a higher priority for me as well. I'm hoping for Christmas in August!

Does the FIU glitch freeze games online? I have a file with so many team edits that has this glitch & was about to start a online dynasty with them also. I was under the impression that the glitch just affected FIU' roster, so if we dont use them no harm would be done. I just dont want to start over with the team by team edits before I start my dynasty online. If the glitch freezes the game I would have no choice.

From what I read in other threads and I think possibly this one earlier, is that if your roster file was corrupt prior to the patch, then the patch will not fix it, you will need to get a new roster. Also, if you downloaded a roster pre-patch with all 120 teams named, and didn't notice any issues YET..then the patch wouldn't fix it, and it would just be better to get a new roster file. With many rolling around out there now. I have just been using Lan's roster with 116 teams named, which is good enough since I could play online/offline with no issues, since the bug only happened with 120 teams named.

I think your roster file may be unusable after the patch. While I'm not completely sure, that roster file has problems that you don't want to encounter and shouldn't be used. I would simply use someone else's edited roster that isn't corrupt.

Edit: bconey beat me to it. Its best not to use your roster file.

Now that the patch is out for the PS3, what roster file(s) is/are best to use? I don't want to download a roster file that may be corrupted.

I would use Lans/RAZRr's. He is supposed to be releasing a full 120 team roster this evening/night
