Re: Getting Hit by the Madden Hype Machine

You guys that skipped out on Madden this year..did it the exact wrong year. Sure, it has its flaws, it still feels pretty dead with no atmosphere and lackluster presentation (I pray they finally fix this next year) and some features missing that SHOULD OF BEEN THERE DAY 1.. but all in all, this is definately the best Madden to date on the 360/ps3, hands down.

We had all the right to not buy the game the previous years on these current systems but i feel Madden is fianlly good enough to warrant its price tag..enough improvments and upgrades (minus the removed features) that make it worth the ticket.

As disappointed as i am about the lack of atmosphere and presentation..i can honestly say (34 Year Old NFL2k5 Junkie) that Madden 09 is decent....Man though, just think if it would of had the Atmsophere and Presentation NFL2k5 had? Wow..it would of made this game ALMOST on Par with NFL2k5.****nning game feels very NFL2k5ish, same with Passing Game...its getting there.

I must be a stronger person as I to swore in 2005 I would never buy another madden game again ... and I haven't!! Instead I've found myself becoming a huge, huge fan of the NHL series. Good riddance Madden.

I really don't get it people say they don't like the game, but they can't stop talking about it.

85 Features

Some of these features include things like - weather effects and gang tackling, things that 2K had for years.

Everyone talks about it because they are trying to give EA feedback so they will fix some of the more annoying issues and lack of featires that should be in there by the fourth installment of this generation. If no one was talking about it, then it would be because they finally got it up to the standards set by NFL 2K5. I don;t think this year's game is bad per say, it just annoys me that I would rather play a game that is four years older because EA still hasn't caught up. Sometimes I wonder how great NFL 2K9 would be right now if EA and the NFL didn't kill it because it got too far out in front of EA's cash cow.

Re: Getting Hit by the Madden Hype Machine

Oh yes, it's like Christmas all over again for EA. With the hype of it yet again, with Favre on the cover, the anniversery or whatever the hell they call it. I bought into it AGAIN. To think I actually put it on reserved and picked it up at midnight.

I could go on and on about this piece of **** yet again EA released but I'll try to keep it short. I returned it today and had Gamestop put the trade-in value on a giftcard so I can use it when NBA 2K9 comes out, which 2K is going to be absolutely sick, like the last two years. They improved every year unlike the money-grabbers from EA.

I'll stick to MLB 08: The Show, of which I am tremendously hooked on right now, and they have tremendous support, it's perhaps one of the best games I've ever played in my life. I also have COD4, GTA IV, and RSV2. I'm look forward to getting NBA 2K9 in 6 weeks.

EA can go to hell.
