EA can't give an exact time frame as to when the patches will be released since that depends on MS and Sony. OMT has stated this many times. Patch 1 was submitted over three weeks ago by EA. Their hands were tied after that. Sony finally got around to reviewing it and now there is a small problem so its delayed a little longer.

Patch 2 was submitted last Friday. Its really out of EA's hands now. They estimated at least 2-3 weeks before it gets approved and released which is why they have said late August or early September. A lot depends on how many games and patches MS and Sony are reviewing right now - EA's patches just join the back of the line.

It's not a matter of these guys getting their feelings hurt, or not being able to take the heat or they should be in a different job. Obviously, EA as a corporate entity is allowing them to post here for a change. They come on these boards and talk to us in a down to earth realistic manor that should be interpreted as such. Obviously, when it mentioned that the reason the patch was held up was a small laughable reason, he was just being "one of the guys" and being honest. If you are going to cast doubt on EA as a company based on a brief comment then perhaps EA should go back to the old policy:

Say nothing on the message boards and only release press announcements that have been approved through the legal team. These are vague and void of any information so that there are no potential issues or mis-interpretations that could negatively affect EA as a company. Translation: leave us all in the dark.

I find the normal everyday candor that there guys bring here to be refreshing. Sorry that a little "glitch" got caught by Sony, and it probably "was" a silly reason, and now EA doesn't take there job seriously? I just don't see why it is such a big deal that they were honest with us.

Sometimes silly things get in the way of serious business and cause delays that are unavoidable.

Just remember in years past, if there even was a patch, you would never here of it until it dropped. You might not even know what it fixed. But you sure wouldn't hear one of the designers honestly telling you it got hung up because of a silly glitch with Sony. Would you prefer that?

I know I like it much better the way it is now.

Rosters taht were corrupt pre patch are corrupt post patch. The patch will let anyone edit rosters to their hearts content now, but you cant take broken rosters and fix them

Rosters were never broken in Dynasty mode, only single player, you can download a roster, take it into Dynasty, and edit to your hearts content, which has always been the case.

The only way to have a clean roster for single player and dynasty is if someone edits a roster from scratch post patch, which FK just posted he will be doing

Right. We are just trying to join in the discussion. We are not here as PR reps. If that was the goal, then there would be PR people posting here.

I don't mind the negative posters or even the trolls. And Craig has certainly learned a lesson on choosing your words carefully when posting! But he's a smart kid and knew what he was getting into. If you've ever met a programmer, you'd agree that they are a different breed of cat!

Don't worry about people running us off the boards. I might stop posting for a day if folks are getting out of hand, but I'm not going away until the suits tell me to stop posting.

And I do agree with posts about this PS3 patch! Me and Craig are doing the same thing.
