Soooooooo, when do you think the 2nd patch will be released or a good estimate of when?

The first patch on any video rarely fixs the game to the point of our liking. Just look at COD4. they took at least 4 to get where they are and they were still working with a legendary product. I just don't think that NCAA will take us to the next gen level until next year at the least. If there are already bugs and gltiches that are ruining our experience some I would be sure of will not be fixable. So I have this sick feeling that no matter how many patches that will be issued still won't have the desired effect on NCAA 09. The game was born cripple and no matter how times it goes into surgery it will always be crippled.
Im going to give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you just missed it in the multiple areas its posted and talked about. The second patch is supposed to hit anywhere between August and September, they cant give a definite answer since there are other things and people in play so its wait and see for the time being.

The roster patch sounds like it should be soon since I believe they reported that its in the hands of Sony and Microsoft at this point to be approved to go live to us.

There is a great difference between subjective viewpoints related to gameplay and unmistakable non functioning elements within the game. Broken sliders and roster crashes are not categorized as subjective viewpoints. Wide open gameplay is not a precursor to explain all the problems in the game, just some of them. Moreover, Wide open gameplay is not designed to have a busted unadjustable A.I. This is why the game is busted, that is not a matter of opionion. If EA advertises wide open gameplay prior to release, they legally should have to mention that the game may not work properly;(again that is not a subjective viewpoint, thats the facts). With a game where problems are ubiquitous, I just dont see how they are able to get away with this, testing their 60$ beta on suspecting guinea pigs.

That being said, I guess EA is making the game to fit target marketing demographics. Having it appeal to the proliterate class of college football fans who would rather average 50 yards per punt return than have a real simulation. These people are by no means wrong in their estimation of what they think is a good game. EA should make a second game where people jump 20 feet in the air and complete 20-20 passing against a 87 overall defense, not much unlike the old NBA JAM arcade game. Theres your answer EA, NCAA JAM 2010.

Despite the bad, there are many quality features in 09 that I think are great. The field is badass, the uniforms are great, the stadiums are wonderfully put together through countless hours of photographs. I prasie the guys at EA who would like nothing more than to put out the best product possible. Without dogmatic corporate people rushing thier every move probably,(looking at capital over quailty without ever a question) these guys would make a hell of a game.

Here is my final list of issues I think are wrong with the gameplay.I won't even attempt to play this game/demo/beta until the patch 2 is in circulation.

1.DL pass rush, where is it?
2.QB accuracy enough said
3.WR catch what on earth?
4.OFF LINE do ratings even matter?
5.Punt /kickoff The worst I've ever seen in 20 years of owning madden/ college, tecmo bowl has got them here
6.speed differences in players to exaggerated
7.Zone/MAN covergaes
8.Pursuit angles, where was QC on this, lets hope they fix this real important
9. Interception returns for 6, every guy is Deion Sanders after he picks it, this pisses me off to know end, I put my worst cornebacks in some games still it happend, were talking 62-67 overall corners making ALL-AMERICAN type plays consistently. again do ratingts even matter?
10.will the CPU ever run the dam ball?
11.West coast offensive fun, I played Georgia tech on AA, their OB was 23 for 24 for the game, nothing but three step drops the entire game.
12.The cpu punting the ball with 2 seconds left in the game when all they had to do was let the clock run out and win. What the hell is that?
13.STRAFE catching
14.FG power
15.KP power

in closing I would like to ask if anyone knows if player pursuit angles are fixable with the second patch? If not, I think the other adjustments are indeed pointless and the game is broken for any sim what-so-ever.

Same here. I watched Tebow run for 100+ on a friend. This was also AA level with adjusted sliders.

You don't have internet? That's all you need for the PS3 is to get updates.

I should have known gameplay problems like these were coming after reading what Moore said in that interview...essentially wanting to make these game more casual. I just hope the sim-crowds outcry's were enough to sway Ian and that starting with Madden 09...more effort will be put in to features that sim players want.

It's painful to say, but my only internet option is dial-up. My wife and I moved to the country about three months ago and there is no DSL or cable internet available here. Needless to say, I miss online gaming very much. Not just gaming with my friends, but also downloading patches, demos and system updates. Oh well, the price you pay for clean air, low crime, and quiet solitude. Thank god for DirecTV. :P

In all honesty...you're probably the lucky one. Anyways to get updates all you need is an online connection and you can get the updates for either 360 or PS3. Any plce near you could just take you system to and plug it up for a few minutes?

Sorry. That sucks. It would be nice if you could buy a CD from EA with the patch info on it for those stuck this scenario. I think Adam (OMT) already said that probably won't happen though.

The next time you go visit anyone, bring your system along and download that sucker if they have DSL!
