With all of these people complaining that pass rush wasn't mentioned...

If the patch has a slider fix, wouldn't you be able to turn down Pass Block and improve the pass rush?

I'm tired, so allow me to rephrase it - If the second patch actually does include a fix to the sliders, I'll wait until Sept. Of course, I won't know until then, if it actually fixes anything, but it's a start.

I figured thats what you meant, just giving you a hard time is all.

Fix the sliders how?

That's the thing..everyone is getting all excited over "sliders being fixed".

I assume this means...Have the CPU sliders work instead of having the Human Sliders AFFECT BOTH Human and CPU.

That's all well and good..but answer me this......

Right now, if you put Human Break Block at 100 and Human Pass Block at 0, are both you and the CPU's Defensive line busting through every single play in 2 seconds?

No?

Then what's the freaking point of having sliders if I put Pass Block at ZERO as in....NONE and I put Break Block at 100 ...as in MAXIMUM....and still don't see a damn bit of difference. My line still blocks like the Denver Broncos and my Defensive line still looks like a bunch of Pee Wee leaguers.

So....if Sliders being "Fixed" means simply having the CPU sliders do the same thing as what the Human sliders are doing right now ...then no..it won't make a bit of difference.

But hey, maybe they'll make the sliders waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more potent? We'll see soon enough.

I have pass blocking at 25 and I get sacked all the time. My OLine is average and I stay in the pocket waiting on my receivers and they get to me probably 3 or 4 times a game.

Making the human pass rush more potent will cause more problems than it fixes IMO. I envision lots of dumb throws from the CPU and pick 6's and a game that is too easy.

If the sliders are fixed so that the HUM and CPU sliders effect only their own attributes, I think we'll have a great game. Personally I already love the game, but I think the one area that could be fixed is to make the CPU QB non-superhuman. They never miss the open man. That would be an easier and more safe of a "fix" than changing pass rush IMO.

In my opinion....you could not be more wrong.

A broken pass rush KILLS this game. Kills it. I cannot play a college football game where LITERALLY, you never have to worry about pressure.

Unless you are a ********, thumbless monkey, you will find an open man with the amount of time that folks have to pass in this game, REGARDLESS of team or player ratings.

If you don't have a pass rush...a REAL pass rush, you cannot have a top notch defense. That is football 101. And that doesn't mean 15 sacks a game. For the love of god quit thinking that pass rush means 15 sacks a game . It simply means, great Defensive linemen can penetrate offensive lines, disrupt plays, and FORCE THE QB to make QUICKER DECISIONS. This shouldn't be a hard concept to grasp.

The idea that creating an effective pass rush would "create more problems" is flat out absurd.

Re: NCAA Football 09 Patch 2 Info (Pasta Padre)

While I certainly share the same sentiments of many of the other posters, Im not really counting on a magical patch to fix anything at all.

They have 1 year, each and every year to do things and yet they cant do it right, what makes any of us think than in a matter of a couple of weeks to a month that they can get it right.

Many of the problems we see in the game are major issues that Im not too sure can be patched. Even if we get the pass rush bumped up a few notches, with the way the CPU QB plays when under pressure, I fear a ton of pick 6s will be in our future.

Its time for Tiburon to step down from making NCAA and give it to someone else to give it a try, this next gen football is an embarresment. We will still be here complaining about the same crap each and every year, nothing will change.

Re: NCAA Football 09 Patch 2 Info (Pasta Padre)

Well, I finished up my rental of NCAA '09 and I'm not really missing it. I'll be curious to see if the patch #2 actually does something. I'm naturally pessimistic just because I've been led to become that way given EA's inability to make a complete college football game on next-gen.

The fact that pass rush wasn't mentioned at all is damn disturbing, given the fact that a TON of people are screaming bloody murder over it. Oh well, if they want an overly offensive-happy game, then tell us the consumers that you don't want a pass rush. I rather hear that than be led to believe they're actually addressing the pass rush problem. Just tell me the truth, I don't care if it ends up not being what I want.

Oh, AA, btw ... you should put your explanation of what a pass rush is within your signature, that way you can help some people out that don't get it.
