Re: NCAA Football 09 Demo Available: Discuss Here

Pros:

Graphics are vice.
Gameplay is better so far.
Havent seen any glitches so that good so far but its just a demo.
Animations so far really look good not overdone on some parts.

Cons:
Presentation is still lacking even if its improved from last year version. Man still no introducting of the impact players for godsakes ps2 still have this.
Cant do CPU vs CPU so i guess my sim leagues are out. Im praying that the reason is its wasnt included in the demo.
Commentary nothing really new plus whatz up with 4th and down comment when i got a first down.
Gang tackling animation meh some are nice and some are like WTF just happen.

Overall: MEh its a demo so i cant really judge if its going to great or just another hype.

Demo rating 7.5/10. Like i said hopefully the full version is really good so i wil be praying

I disagree, I'm hearing lots of new stuff.

I would also add that the crowd is light years better than 08. It's sorta hard to tell, because the commentary is tuned much too loud, but turn the volume up a bit and really pay attention, it's great. Best in the history of the series. With the added custom stadium sounds, and even the cheerleaders, atmosphere really does appear to have been addressed pretty well.

I have to agree with Undefeated on this. When I turn the volume up (specifically on surround sound) I really started to notice the crowd is much better and responsive this year. I also noticed that near the end of games or when it's a one-sided game that you can hear the chatter in the crowd. It's pretty funny sometimes.

I also like the cheerleader cutscenes. They're actually pretty well done. That's not to say that I don't wish there were coaching cutscenes too, but it's much better than last year. I would also like some more statistical overlays with comparison team stats or player stats. I like the little pop-up stats that show in the lower right corner. That was a nice little addition.

Just my 2 cents.

The more I play the demo, the more I like it. I had a great time playing it late last night.

I really like this demo, but there is one nagging issue, and I'm sure it's already been mentioned, but...

The scorebar says, for the sample game, "LSU" and "Bucks." Now, Ohio State is the Buckeyes, not the Bucks. Plus, if the one team is the school name, go with all school names. The thing I hate most is the inconsistency. Sure, OSU is taken by Oklahoma State University, but Ohio State could be "Ohio St" or "OH St." But no; instead, they write the nickname for their nickname. That's like an MLB game having the "O's" and the "Brew Crew" instead of Orioles and Brewers, or, more logically, BAL vs. MIL.

Sorry, but that bothers me for some reason. Even if you use the nicknames, use the nicknames for both teams instead of one school and one 2nd degree nickname.
Ohio State should be tOSU abbreviation in the game. That is how they are known to distinguish them from Oklahoma State.

Re: NCAA Football 09 Demo Available: Discuss Here

Just saw a glitch where the RT lined up inside the RG. They looked like Siamese twins. Once the play started the RT warped to where he was supposed to be. Has anyone else seen this?

Anyway, just had a great game. OSU(me)21 LSU 0. Had a WR screen go for 71 yards. There was some great blocking on that play. I wish I could have IR that play just to watch the blocks. Overall the def. played awesome. D-line got pressure all game and the DBs were all over the WR. Almost had 2 blocked punts also.

Overall I'm loving the gameplay. I do like the weighty feel of the players.(maybe it's a little too much, but better than last year) And the feeling that you could break one on any play. Can't wait for the 15th.
