I only have intermediate programming experience, but it seems like this should be fixed with a few lines of code, something like:

if ((5-Down-DefenseTimeouts)*.25>TimeLeft && Points.Offense>Points.Defense && Yardline>5)
Play.Offense=VictoryFormation;

I can see how programming which specific play to call in the rest of the game would be a bitch to set up so that it appears believable and adaptable to what the user throws at it, but something like this seems like it should be a very easy fix, no?

Finally played the demo tonight, very impressed compared to last year. The graphics look great, player reaction is nice as well. The key to a good football game is the ability to feel like you can control the player to do whatever you want him to do at any time. This game feels more fluid, but I'm not sure it's all the way there. To me that's what makes a great football game, actually feeling like your controlling every movement, where as last years game felt like you started a player movement, but the cpu finished it. Overall I was impressed, enough to go buy a 360 and this game. I just wish the player movement was a little more fluid.

thank you for your help and answer Adam
I've seen this as well. Happens to me everytime the QB goes under center. The center bumps the QB or the QB bumps the center and the QB shifts to the right or left a little bit. I also noticed a hitch when walking to the line that wasn't in the 360 version. You guys have had this hitch in next gen since 07 but seems you cleaned it up on the 360 version in 09. Its in the PS3 version though.

As it was stated that the build was from late April so I'm sure you guys would have cleared all this up by July or I would hope so.

I've also noticed the bug with the QB slightly off under center on the PS3 as well as the rotation on the ball in the air being off at times. Maybe someone can correct me but I think EA has never gotten the spin on the football right. Often times (every other quarter?) I'll notice the spin is in the opposite direction than it should be. Not a big deal but I do notice it once in awhile.

Finally back in town to play the demo. PS3 version

My 1st impression of the game was kinda weak so I turned it off! I gave it another chance this morning & was a little more impressed with the overall feel of the game. Although I think this game has a long way to go its definately better than last years version. Player models look good & field textures are great. Dont really care for those late afternoon games, it just looks dull with that orangish color. Seen some nice animations to but the overall feel of the game seems like last gen to me. Hopefully the retail version will be better but I think I can have fun with this one. If EA could just get prensetation right & interactions between the OL/DL, WR/DB, QB drops & animations this would improve the game drastically. Its sometimes the small things that make a game feel real. I just dont feel it with this game.

A question for you Adam.

Have you guys ever considered putting your wishlist together and then letting the various community boards vote on what they would like to see added and what to leave on the cutting room floor?

Adding team entrances was a big job back then. On next gen it is a bigger job. Look... we really DO want it. It is just a VERY expensive feature. We could have put it in 09 and people would button through and then post on OS that we should have online dynasty by now. But we couldn't get both in one year. We went with online dynasty.

You are entitled to disagree with our decisions. There is nothing wrong with it. Just please don't think this is a simple feature. It is an extremely complicated task. We CAN do it, we will just have to cut other stuff we want to do to make it happen.

Ok, here's the first wave of things you can do:

1- Several QB passing animations(for the really good pocket passers they could have a smooth, flawless motion like Eli Manning and then there could be the Phillip Rivers or Vince Young motions plus some more).

2- Spring Game

3- More alternates/updated uni's-maybe even the ability to choose which pants with which jersey.

4-FCS teams and season coinciding with BCS: Work on having older transfers leave for FCS school for immediate PT.

5-Separate recruiting pool for JUCO's. The lower rated JUCO's will most likely go to the FCS schools.

6- Medical Redshirts

7-Don't worry so much about pre-game stuff, like you said, it will get buttons "mashed" so everyone will end up skipping it.

8-The biggest wish of all, a way to tie in all of the BCS(at least the BCS) conferences together in an online dynasty so we can play humans in the post-season and recruit. I guess they'd have to tie in from the pre-season on. I have no idea how this would work. I guess I'd be part of an SEC dynasty, I'd have to have tie-ins to people with the other league dynasties, and we'd all join up for one huge online dynasty. I guess that's impossible. It was only a year ago that someone told me a twelve player online would never happen since it was impossible to do, so....

Thanks for all the hard work, and time and willingness to answer our questions here. Now get to work on this list, you have plenty to do. lol

Re: NCAA Football 09 Demo Available: Discuss Here

I didnt read the whole thread but I had a bug where the menus completely disappeared the entire game. No play calling screen, no overlays , nothing. Still played the game though. This is the xbox 360 version.

Otherwise, a marked improvement over last years.
