Re: NCAA Football 09 Demo Available: Discuss Here

I think it's a testament to how much an improvement this game is and will be with much of the community already pleased with the demo, along with guys like russell05 stating the demo is nowhere near the community day version. If this demo is as early of a build as it is claimed to be, then this might be one of the best NCAAs to come out in a long time, at least the best next gen NCAA. Granted, there were a few game glitches, but other than that I loved the demo. If russell05 is right about the community day version being that much better than this demo, I think we're all in for a big treat. Let's also all remember that the game is still almost a month away from being released. With all of the feedback they're getting from the community day and the demo, EA (hopefully) will make the tweaks needed, as they will have an ample of amount of time. Besides the glitches and whatnot, I saw no glaring flaws in gameplay. Of course, the demo is on varsity which will be considerably different from the retail version's AA and Heisman difficulties, but I still had plenty of fun and will most likely go back to the demo in the coming weeks if anything to hone my skills and get myself psyched up for the retail version.

Well I dunno dude

A lot of people loved 08 at first before they realized how bad the turnovers were

I don't know if there is a rule against this, but I thought you can't have 2 players with the same number on the field at the same time.

I swore using OSU I had 2 number 20's on the kickoff squad.

I'm sure the answer to both of those questions is no so you don't know what you are talking about. The demo is from a build back in May its not the build all the community leaders played at Tiburon.

Everyone who played the builds at community came to the conclusion that the game lacked a decent pass rush against spread offensives. We tried everything from my personal exp. in the game against Rhombic where he had T.Tech and I had UGA. I could not get any pressure on his QB at all. I threw everything at that offense and nothing worked blitzing 4 didn't work, blitzing 5 didn't work, I even sent the house a couple of times 7 man blitz didn't matter.

We tested this for over 4 hours nothing worked the producers even said yeah its a problem. When you play the finished version of the game online against somebody using Florida, Missu, T.Tech, or WVU we can revisit this issue. As a matter of a fact I'll give you a little secret you want to complete over 90% of your passes in the demo? This is how you do it it doesn't matter if you are O.State or LSU. Call all shotgun pass plays when you snap the ball just start dropping back no need to sprint just hold back on the L stick and when you find a reciever open pass it to him. It will be money every time heck even if some defenders do break free they won't even be able to touch ya.
I agree with Russel05, that this demo was way to easy. Yea I know it Varisty level, but the way I scored wont be fixed even at Heisman level. CPU cant generate any pass rush, so you can roll out and find open receivers on any shotgun play. I played it yesterday and really havent felt motivated to play it again. Not to bash anyone but if you guys are struggling against the CPU on Varsity level, regardless of which team you are, then your stick skills have a lot to be desired. As Russell mentioned when your in shotgun and roll out of the pocket, because there is no pressure, it's money all day to hit an open receiver. Then if your on defense all you have to do is play a cover 2 zone in the red zone and CPU will throw a pick. I had 4 picks against the CPU all returned back for a touchdown..

I may just rent this game to upload the player names into Madden..

Re: NCAA Football 09 Demo Available: Discuss Here

Two of the concerns I had with the game were made into bigger issues then they are.

The pass rush is not that bad and it's about on par with the past games. Granted we are playing varisty, but I got decent pressure with my front 4 and the computer go decent pressure on me. Now when I take over at Baylor and I play Texas and I can't come close to the QB without bringing a blitz, it might change my mind.

The other issues was the quick snapping by the computer QB. Really, it's enough time. I wish I had a couple of more seconds, but I think that was way overblown as well.

exactly dookie....i pressured the QB into making a couple of errant throws before the recievers ran their routes and i had plenty of time to adjust pre-snap defensively

So the demo isn't even the last build the community guys played? That's good to hear.

You even mentioned yourself that the game is on varsity level, so obviously the game is going to be much easier. I've won all of the games I've played in the demo with only one being a blowout because I was trying out different offensive styles in the game I played. I would for the most part agree with you about cover 2 in the red zone, but the CPU must have had some success offensively against you if the CPU was in the red zone four times. I'm not trying to bash anyone or anything, but saying the demo is too easy is like saying playing NCAA 08 on varsity is too easy. AA and Heisman will definitely be more challenging.
