Not sure if this has been mentioned yet but the sound in the Demo is remarkable. I have a 6.1 system using the optical out from the PS3 and i can tell they tweak the surround sound with more commentary from the crowd. You can actually hear people saying things now after good or bad plays. If the Demo sounds this good i cant wait till the full version.
As far as gameplay, i hate the Kickoffs. How can someone running in front of me possibly know when i cut right or left? It looks like sychronized swimming or something. I do like the fact that i can get pressure on the QB, and the response when switching players while ball is in the air is good. Anyway there are more positive then negatives for me and this is only a Demo. Cant wait to play the real thing!

I've been surprised with the demo. I'm enjoying it. My biggest complaint with 08 was what they left out, and it seemed the gameplay had gotten a little worse with the jump to next gen. There is still too much left out, ie Spring game, Med. RS's etc, but I think the game will be pretty fun.

The OSU D-Line was constantly in my backfield applying pressure.

I think I was 16-24 passing with no INT's the last game I played.

I think WR's break tackles too easily in the open field.

It's unbelievable how fast the menus are.

I'm sure there's more, but this was from the 2nd time I've played the demo.

Atmosphere is fantastic. Gameplay great. And this is only the demo. Can't wait till July.

Honestly I don't think some of the guys who hate it are giving it a fair chance. I just don't see how some could say its not improved. I think the people who don't like it already made up their mind before they even played it. I mean damn, this game feels so different then 08 its crazy. Tons more anims, improved graphics, players have weight and momentum. I for one cant wait till July 15th.

Re: NCAA Football 09 Demo Available: Discuss Here

I haven't read every post of the thread so sorry if there's a lot of repeats.

Every year I go through the same farce of saying I'm not going to buy NCAA or Madden but every year I do. I have to say I was disappointed with NCAA 08. It was very rough to look at, a lot of jaggies, and it just didn't "feel" like a real game of college football, or close to it for that matter.
I played the demo trying to keep an open mind and have come away impressed. Sure, there's still some way to go (eg broadcast presentation) but I think it's WAY improved over 08. It looks a LOT better and the new animations help to give it more of the "feel" if that makes sense (I had some great reach behind catches and a one handed bobble). I like the dazed animation after a big hit as well. I always hated the way after a play that players would just wander aimlessly bouncing off each other, but this year I saw players gently push off others or even just put hands on them to guide themselves past. A really nice touch which I thought was great in NBA 2K8, though it's obviously more noticable in basketball.
The celebrations are a bit of a gimmick but good fun nonetheless.
From my limited time playing, I think the AI seems to be much improved as well and helps plays play out in a more realistic way. That said, it did make a few bonehead calls like letting the time expire trying to kick a FG instead of calling a time out.

While it's far from perfect, it's certainly done enough to convince me to pre-order to full game. It's also given me a bit more hope for Madden.

Yes I saw this animation. I'm not sure how it could've gotten past testers - unless the testers were testing Mascot Games instead of something important.

I liked the demo but wasn't in love with it like some. Much of that stems from the fact that the passing game is really overpowered compared to the running game. Also, playing on 2 minute quarters doesn't feel like football as everyone seems to be in a 2 minute offense. I still think the players need more weight but its better than last year and easier to play defense. Sliders should really help in these areas which is why I want the full version already! BTW, I still hate the new control setup and not being able to change the controls on the demo added to some big confusion early on.

The PS3 version looks so much better than last year. The control is better and the playbooks are great compared to last year. I really felt you could attack areas of the field a lot better. Formation audibles are great. I think this is a game where the more you play the more you will appreciate it. I saw a lot of new animations as well. Definitely a very refined version compared to last year.

I agree. The demo is good but I'm not crazy about it. There still isn't enough time to feel the controls out like you would do a practice mode. I wish they would just let the demo be 10 min quarter. I played both on Xbox and PS3 and they are pretty much the same. I do like the PS3 version better. Question: Anyone who has played the game with teh Dual Shock 3 controller does it vibrate with game? (PS3 version)
