I don't know what to make of this.. I tried from one of the mirrors, and each time I went to start it up, my AVG antivirus kept popping up "trojan" warnings

This has been addressed on the OOTP forums, don't worry its not a trojan.

How to Prevent AVG Anti-Virus from Conflicting with the Elicense lcmmfu.cpl File If you have AVG Anti-Virus' Resident Shield enabled, it will consider the C:\Windows\lcmmfu.cpl file to be a trojan threat. This file is only in place to verify that your game is properly licensed. Do not delete it, as it may cause your game to no longer open. I've been crazy busy bringing work home but I installed this and fired it up just to see how it'll run on my Mac and I'm very happy.

On my old PC, OOTP8 would take about 5 minutes to load. Forget loading online league files for my online leagues. That could take 15 minutes.

OOTP9 on my recently purchased Mac starts up in seconds. Can't wait to start a fictional and MLB league.
