I like the idea of maxing out items but I think each boxer should be limited in what can be maxed out in a career mode. Think of the Madden series where a player has generated stats based on his parents (not saying fight night should have parents). But it adds strategy to the career.

Also how would you distinguish between a Heavyweight or a Lightweight?

I think letting us choose our stats maxed or not is the way to go. That way we could create a challenge if we wanted to but also have the ability to create a beast right off the mark like Tyson.

There should also be a mode or an option in career that lets us box without having to train or worry about our stats.

Then you would have an online of nothing but maxed out guys slugging it out. Lightweights with 99 power etc.

They need to have a ton of attributes and a point pool for created boxers on line. Lets say there are 8 attributes, make it a 500 point max. Distribute the points the way you want to. It would add variety and strategy. If everyone is all maxed out online, that wouldn't be good.

Basically make a boxing game that's actually a representation of the sport, the counterpart to Madden/NFL 2k, NHL 08, MLB the Show, NBA 2k series. Just copy what Victorious Boxers / Boxers Road did in their career mode, if a small developer can make Boxers Road, there's no excuse for EA Canada not to match it. Im pretty sure I know what will happen though, they will say they focused on gameplay this year, and next year they'll offer the robust career mode, typical EA tactic to get as much money from gamers as possible.

Most everything I want to see has been mentioned in this thread, as far as presentation goes why not make use of the ESPN license? Why not have Friday Night Fights as part of the game, you start your career on undercards in 6 rounders and work your way up to PPVs. Why not have actual PPV cards too, you can choose to watch the fights or just sim them and check the results, most importantly the fighters in those cards MUST be part of the actual dynamic ranking system just as you would see in any other sports game with a schedule.

I always say they should make better use of the ESPN license.

Re: Fight Night Round 4 Hopes and Concerns

We really need true 1 punch KO's. Hit someone with the perfect punch and the fight is over. This could be at any time and at any stamina level, even the 1st punch of the fight. It shouldn't happen very often, it should be one of those OH DAMN!!!!!!!!!! Moments where you jump up out of your chair.

We also need boxers to age. There should be a training advantage to having a long period between fights, but boxers stats should definitely deteriorate over time after a certain age. So if you want to take on MArcianos record of 49-0, you will have to fight alot of fights early on relatively short notice, making it harder to get prepared because of the training time.
