rFactor: New Simulation Game of Choice

Ramenite is spot-on about rFactor continuingto keep on giving. It's amazing how many different types of racing you can get in one $40 game, and great updates and new series and cars continue to be built by the mod community more than two years after the game's release.

And all of the mods are FREE. You're not getting nickel-and-dimed by microtransactions over some online console network, turning a $40 into a $200 game. You get EVERYTHING for 40 bucks, and most of it is done very, very well.

rFactor is an amazing game that has spawned an even more amazing community of racers and modders.

Just joining the sim world, I used to mess around with Papyrus' Nascar but got sidetracked with motocross.

Any OS guys playing this? I'll be getting this game and wheel going on Monday, I really want to use the ORR2 mod.

I still race one or two nights per week with guys from Digital Sportspage (www.digitalsportspage.com) and sometimes with randoms.

I'm not big on any dirt mods for rFactor, including ORR 2, because I don't think the physics engine simulates the varying grip levels of racing on dirt like a purpose-built sim such as Dirt Track Racing Sprint Cars, Leadfoot or Richard Burns Rally.

But I'm in the minority, as the ORR 2 mod seems pretty popular.
