CP3.. 2K used Shaq a few years in a row, and did the same with AI. I'm going with a repeat for Paul. I'm going to predict KG will be on Live '09's cover.

a few thoughts from me on the cover guy!

This is a huge announcement for 2k. They are doing it before the finals, so the player should match the moment.

B.D., and A.I. don't match the moment IMO.
CP3 won't either because he was on the cover last year. Y the big announcement if it's the same guy.

Bosh fits the picture, but I don't think he matches the moment either.

D.Howard makes an excellent cover guy, but he was on the cover of Ballers.

Roy will be a great pick, but he doesnt match the moment IMO.

It seems 2k wants to make a huge splash and I think the pick has to be between Lebron, Kobe, or KG.

Kobe was the cover for Sony's game, so that makes him the least likely out of the 3 IMO. He fits the moment b/c he's the "it" guy for the NBA right now.

KG was on the cover of NBA Live, but that was years ago. KG fits the picture and the moment, but I don't think it's him.

Lebron has been coveted for a cover spot since he came into the league, but his price was always too high. This could be the year 2k finally pony's up. They are tired of just being the better reviewed game and want to take over the top sales spot. From a marketing perspective, this makes the most sense. The announcement at the finals fits Lebron perfectly. He's never been on the cover of any game, so why not unveil Lebron as the new cover guy for NBA 2K9 on national TV.

I personally want to see the cover guy be Kobe or Lebron. You can't go wrong with either guy.

I know that LeBron put down his stipulations as to what he wants to be on the cover of a game.

But, what if they worked something out. Maybe LeBron lowered his stipulations and agreed to something less than what he originally demanded.

Just something to think about.

Has it been reported recently that LeBron is STILL refusing to be on a cover unless his demands are met? I mean, that was over a year ago.
