Jerry West says age is a factor for the Lakers defense

West claims that age keeps them from consistently clamping down on defense. But why is Boston still an elite defensive team? They are about as old(maybe older) than the Lakers and they are still an elite defensive team.

Boston is just a better Defensive team than the Lakers, but the age thing only matters in the regular because in the playoffs the have plenty of off days and no back to backs.

Excuse.... It's all about team philosophy... And it starts with the head coach and the assist coaches. And then it comes from your star player. From the very first day in training camp.

Heh age effects different players in different ways. I expect them to play better in the playoffs with more days off,etc but I'm not sure if they are as great as they were in the past few years.

The other day.. I was watching their game vs Thunder. Even though they put Kobe on Westbrook. Westbrook still had his way lol. I still feel it's an excuse.

Kobe cant keep quick guards in front of him anymore. How is age an excuse its a fact the older you get the more you slow down.

So please explain the Celtics then.... Those guys have to be all older than 32...Right?

You watch some of the Lakers defensive rotations. That's not being old. The effort is just not there. And like I said before. I blame the coach.

They are a just better Defensive team period always have been always will be.
