Yahoo hacked again - 1 Billion accounts

Who knew Yahoo even had that many? Changed mine earlier today, heads up for anyone else though. The site is a massive security risk, good thing I only use it for Fantasy Football.

I can't believe anyone actually puts their name, phone # and DOB. But anyway, some email messages can contain such info, however it's not about reading emails, I assume.

Re: Yahoo hacked again - 1 Billion accounts

Does this explain why I wasn't able to change my fantasy lineup earlier?

Re: Yahoo hacked again - 1 Billion accounts

I'm not really surprised, I've had attempts on my account since 2013 so those are probably related to that breach. But that's what the two-stage protection (and more recently, Account Key which sends an access request to my smartphone if I log in from an unfamiliar location) is for. What's more, anytime someone does try to log into my account (me if I'm traveling, or anyone else) I get a message on my phone. And you can be damn sure that I'm changing my password soon after, if it wasn't me.

Two Factor/Stage is becoming mandatory at this point for most sites that offer it.

Yep. I was especially glad when Sony finally stopped dragging their feet and implemented it for PSN this year.

I wonder if the hacker can tell me my yahoo password from my middle school account that is 15 years old.
