Request: Tips to beat a super cheeser

I'm in a tournament against a hardcore cheeser. He uses Memphis, I use the Clippers. He plays zone all game, and the CPU plays perfect zone defense so he can just run around trying to blitz passing lanes since passes float and the CPU isn't smart enough to get open for passes.

Zach Randolph and Marc Gasol make EVERYTHING on the inside, even when contested by multiple players, and Rudy Gay gets every single foul call in the world. Every time he drives with Rudy, he does a hop step and a pump fake and one of the CPU defenders jumps to it every single time. If he's not doing that, he's doing the spin dunk even though I'm right in front of him.

I get no calls when I get mauled on the inside, and he doesn't play on-ball, and the CPU plays near perfect perimeter defense.

I've heard people say there are ways to draw foul calls or avoid having fouls called on you, but I'm calling BS. I don't know what to do-- I can't beat the Grizzlies, the refs and every exploit in the game.

Well, there are 2 ways to combat this.

1A:

Step 1: When he's in zone, get into the paint. To get to the paint past the annoying computer tap Y to back down, then Press Y once again to do the Post drive. It will get you past the computer every time.

Step 2: Next, find out who he's usering, and pass to that man. He's most likely usering Rudy Gay so pass to Caron or Young who's most likely standing in a corner somewhere waiting for that 3 ball oppurtunity.

1B:

Step 1: Same as above.

Step 2: Pass to Blake Griffin. Don't tell him to post up, because it won't work in a zone defense. You HAVE to get into the paint first. Now, once you pass, don't be scared to dribble with Blake. Why? Because not only does Blake have the highest ball security in the game for a PF, NONE of the Grizzlies player have a high enough steal rating to take it from him. He's either going to be ineffective or called for a reaching foul.

Step 3: Once Blake Griffin has the ball, tap Y, then tap it again towards the basket. He's then most likely going to try and crowd Blake, so either A) kick it out to one of the corners for the 3 or B) Pass it to DeAndre Jordan who is most likely also near the hoop for the easy dunk.

2: Now, to stop him on defense, swallow your pride and play Off-ball D and user DeAndre Jordan. Don't go into Zone just yet, just see how he reacts to that, and if he can score on the CPU. If that doesn't work, go to the 2-3 and again user Jordan. What this will do is make his AI teammates act extremely ******** if he tries to pass (IE they'll get behind one of your defenders and the AI will steal the ball...hopefully). You should either mostly stick with a 2-3 zone. Maybe even a 3-2. Vary your defense up. Sometimes even within the same possession.

Last, but not least, FORCE him to shoot jumpers. Don't let him get any layups, force him to shoot jumpers, which is what the zone will do.

If you need anymore help, I'll gladly help you lab if you're on the 360.

Re: Request: Tips to beat a super cheeser

idk man zone's are actually pretty easy to beat if you can knock down jumpers. i love going against zone because its easy to pick apart with passing and penetration. if he is running around foolishly with one player trying to get steals then someone on your team will be open every time guaranteed. just be patient and find the open man then hit your shots. also, dont always try to make the "home run" pass. just make easy passes and move the ball around and the zone will get sucked in and leave people open eventually. also, pump fakes are great to use. try to get in transition and score easy buckets as much as possible.

now as for your defense, i suggest you play 2-3 zone and choose lock down paint as your strategy. you should control one of your baseline players (id control griffin) and cut him off going to the hoop. you should also be aware of the 3 and shade over to stop it. you can also double team pretty easily in the 2-3 along the baseline so that could stop his rhythm and force mistakes. id say play 2-3 zone until he proves he can knock down jumpers. if he can indeed hit jumpers then you might be screwed but i think 2-3 is your best bet to stop someone who is a slasher.

also, it is not cheese to play 2-3. as long as you actually defend the proper zones with the player your controlling, its a perfectly legit defense. its only cheese when people run around aimlessly and mash the steal button and double team constantly. just suck it up and play zone, i use it a lot online and it is effective if you do it properly.

Re: Request: Tips to beat a super cheeser

He didn't say what kind of zone dude was playing...it could be a 1-3-1 which is the cheesers preference..Its hard to beat if you're not making jumpshots but always try to get it to the corner anyway...If he can shoot, hopefully he'll make it but you can sometimes get them to bite on the pump and you have a clear baseline to the rim...That and try to get the ball to the free throw line and in the paint like stated above...keep posting with y and spinning off real quick to get into the lane if the annoying cpu won't allow it..Of course I don't support cheese, I prefer sim but I know how to beat the cheese...
