i found the answer to this: due to any sliders above Pro (allstar or higher) everyone contests shots and even when it's not "good defense" irl (in real life) it's considered good defense in 2k and this causes everyone to miss because everything is "lightly contested" which isn't a defender almost blocking you but it's good enough to cause them to miss. try these sliders

| strangely enough the "lightly contested" part isn't why they miss . they miss because someone is "putting a hand up". If a defender stands in front of a shooter without putting a hand up with these sliders and you get a good release you should be able to make some (or most) of these shots and they may say "open" as well. The ghost contest is pretty much removed with these sliders and the game feels similar to day one.

| I personally use these shooting sliders
User/CPU
|
|
|
| Inside shot success: 60/58
Close shot success: 60/55
Mid-Range success: 60/55
3PT Success: 60/55
Layup Success: 60/58
Note: this does not resolve user team CPU controlled Steph Curry missing wide open moving/drifting/fading 3 point shots (still looking for a resolution for this issue).
