Runner on base takes two bases on a fly out to the outfield

I've seen more than once a base runner take 2 bases on a fly out to the outfield. That's not realistic.

There needs to be more information. Were they your runners or the CPU's? Also what base running set up you using?

I will say the CPU is ultra aggressive on the base paths. I really miss the CPU base running aggressiveness slider we once had in the game.

I use Auto-Baserunning, and I have to say I love the unpredictability of what happens on the base paths, with both my team and the CPU.

If it was a huge problem it would be one thing, but most of the time the plays are close. I have had two incidents when a base runner tried to score from 2nd base on a fly ball that was all the way to the wall in CF, the runner took off just as the CF was catching the ball and running into the wall, both plays were close, one was safe, the other was out, both on "bang bang" plays that were pretty exciting.

Just last night my 1B was on second base and tagged up on a play he had no business tagging up on, he was safe, but barely. I actually did a big sigh of relief and felt like scolding the guy haha.

I have played the computer and there was a runner on second base, the computer hits a fly ball to right field, i catch the ball and throw it to the cutoff all while the computer baserunner at 2nd tags and go's to 3rd then just keeps running home, i tagged the computer at home, the computer was about 80 feet from homeplate when the catcher recieved the ball, the computer should have stopped, it wasnt even close.

How long have you felt that the CPU has been over aggressive?

13 and 14 were way too station-to-station to me.

On a different note, one of my most memorable moments in last year's game was when my CPU controlled Brett Gardner scored from second on a sac fly to center field. It was awesome and the only time I recall seeing something like that.

Re: Runner on base takes two bases on a fly out to the outfield

My favorite interesting auto base running story so far this year. Peter Bourjos is on first. A fly ball is hit to the first baseman. Both the 2B and SS also run towards the fly ball so all three fielders end up between 1st and 2nd. When the ball is caught, since nobody was covering second, Bourjos took off and advanced and made it to second on easy infield fly.

The shortstop tried to get back and cover, and actually beat Bourjos to the bag by a few steps, but it was not enough to field the throw and make the tag.

The cpu tagging at second and going home has been happening for several years now. It may not be realistic but they always make it against me.

In 12 the CPU was constantly running themselves out of innings. It got better in 13 and I saw it happening again in 14 but not terrible. Now this year I feel we are back to 12, they are running themselves out of innings again.
