Catching deep flyballs on the run...

I'm new to the Show and am having trouble with one thing...when a deep flyball is hit, I run to the field marker but if I get there just slightly before the ball, the ball ends up landing next to the fielder instead of him catching it...it's almost like if an animation does not have time to kick in then he can't catch the ball...what am I doing wrong?

I am not sure what to say I have not seen or heard this issue.

I think you may be running full speed to the spot and your momentum may be carrying you too far past the ball.

Try letting off a bit on the analog stick just before you get to your spot, so when you do get there, you are running slower or jogging to it at that point. Of course you can only do that on flyballs that arent rocket to you. Give that a try...
