Importing franchises to MLB 2010 and beyond

Has there been any mention of this feature? I never finish more than one season in a baseball game before the next year's game comes out, and it'd be even more extra incentive if we could import the current state of the franchise, with all of the saved stats, etc, into future games. I understand that attributes and such change throughout the years, but there has to be a smart workaround for this. It'd just be cool to track the progress of our players throughout the years, and break current records and such.

That is a great idea. I hate having to start a new franchise every year all over again. I rarely get through a season in a year because I like to play every pitch. This would be great for me.

This is really something that needs to be in every sports game. I can usually burn through a bunch of seasons in NHL because there's half the amount of games, and on 5 minute periods, games take 15 minutes, and with the right settings, I can still get realistic stats. Without simming through the majority of games, there's no point in ever worrying about budget or potential or anything in this series, until this feature is added.

I agree with you guys. This would be the best new feature in any sports game. There has got to be away to make this work.

I ask for that feature every single year on these forums, and I'm continually told that it's not possible, as code changes from year to year.

I know the code changes, but this is just about importing numbers, for the most part. I mean even if we could just hack the save file for the franchise and change some numbers around, that would be a start.

I doubt it's that simple.

If stats/etc were saved in a database type file that any year's game could read, then I don't see why this wouldn't be possible. But I have no idea how this information is stored and I know I was told that it's not possible with the way the game is currently coded.

And I know that hacking a save file certainly would not work.
