The Nation: Red Sox Roster Thread

In light of the other team threads, here's the Red Sox roster edits thread. Please feel free to add your edits for anything and everything Red Sox related.

Note: For the players that have a number of different stances/deliveries to choose from, the one in bold is the one I'm going with for now.

Papelbon - Aardsma or Cormier Ramon Ramirez - Corpas
Drew - Borchard
Bay - Hardy (Nearly perfect)
Lowell - Hawpe or Kotsay or Bruntlett
Masterson - Fuentes or Figueroa or Guardado or Dotel
Lowrie - A-Rod (good for his stance batting righty) or Crisp
Delcarmen - Burton or Hawkins
Kotsay - Bruntlett
Buchholz - Bonderman
Bowden - Edwar Ramirez
Hansack - Chan Ho Park
Littleton - Gen 7 or Stetter
Smith - Maroth
Van Every - J. Wilson
Bailey - J. Baker

I'll add more minor leaguers etc. once Knight finishes his rosters and once I get to see more Spring Training games. Hopefully this will get this thread rolling.

Irritating that they have Papelbon throwing out of full windup...again.

Also irritating that most of the stances and deliveries are horribly wrong. I'm not a 2k fan, but in this area they do muuuuuch better. Can't believe they couldn't even get Pedroia's right and he is the cover athlete!

Also, the lack of variety in equipment sucks so much...only 3 choices for bats and gloves??? Wtf is that? Laaaaaaaaaame. I'm pretty disappointed overall with the player designs.

Yah I know... You'd think they'd finally get his delivery right after all these years.... So far I think Aardsma's is the best in the game for him.

Actually, Pedroia went to the studio himself and recorded his actual stance and motions... See? http://www.necn.com/Boston/Sports/20...232641115.html

Re: The Nation: Red Sox Roster Thread

Looks like Varitek will need an edit... This was in today's Globe:

"What we've done is simplified his approach on the left side," Magadan said. "Basically, got his hands in the same position, and instead of doing the tap and the double stride, he's just taking his hands back and striding forward. That's really got him in a real good position. He's seeing offspeed pitches really well. He's balanced. His feet look like they're planted underneath him. He's in a good position to put a swing on it.

Here's the full article on the change in Varitek's stance: http://www.boston.com/sports/basebal...nce_is_on_tap/

So now, the first year that we actually have his stance almost perfect in a video game, we'll probably have to go back and change it to the way it was in all years past, where he just stands still and holds the bat up high.

You know Jason Bay's stance is hidden right?

Yah, but it's completely inaccurate too... The one the game gives him is way off. Hardy's is perfect.

Yes it is, but the unfortunate part is that is is sorta wrong. What he does with the bat seems about right, but he has an open stance not a normal one. The other wierd thing is that besides the hidden stance Jason Bay has another regular option in the player edit.

Others with "Hidden Stances" and "Hidden Deliveries" are:

Jed Lowrie
Manny Delcarman
Justin Masterson
Jacoby Ellsbury
Clay Buchholz

**Very Important**
If u change any of the above to another stance or delivery from "Generic 1" u will never be able to get their specific stance or delivery back. Once u change, it's gone!

Mike Lowell - Eric Chavez
I thought Mike Lowell's stance was wierd, he doesn't twirl the bat and he doesn't stand upright. Mike leans way back on his back foot and moves the bat from left to right.
