Does need overtake value when trading.

I thinking most people on here try to play Madden in a fair way. Not exploiting the poor trade logic for personal gain.

Most of us will look at a players rating/age/position before making the correct trade.

However after the Raiders wafted their 1st round pick to get Carson Palmer IRL, it made me think whether you should take into consideration a teams need and therefore change the value of the player.

SO take the Raiders in Madden.

At the end of season 1 you will have both Campbell and Palmer. Palmer is staying as he cost a first rounder, so what to do with Campbell?

Hes rated 84, hes Mobile, still young and fairly accurate QB.

Now in normal circumstances I would say he is a 3rd round pick worth.

However, the Raiders WANT to get rid of him so does that lower his value? Or does a team depserate for a game ready QB increase his value?

Anyone had this situation where they were trying to offload a high rated player and your value changed?

You have answered that question yourself really. The Bengals just got two first rounders for a QB considered mediocre by many they didn't even want in the building anymore.

QBs have incredible positional value, and as long as you have at least two teams that consider the QB a possible franchise signal-caller, he will get you some kind of huge return.

Also agree that you've kind of answered your own question. Plus I like to think of what you've posted as a way to somewhat explain some of the peculiar moves the CPU might make in franchise when trading. Suspending belief somewhat, but...
