I also want to see the return of fog like another mentioned. It was beautiful in NCAA 14 at the time and is something I really want to see with today's graphics.

Also, dynamic weather is long overdue. I could live with a system where the weather changed quarter to quarter, but it is 2022 and the Frostbite engine is mighty powerful. We should be able to see the weather changing in live action now. I want games where it drizzles, stops, drizzles, stops, etc. I want a game that's in overcast weather until the rain comes pouring down the final 3 possessions.

Cold weather games without snow is desperately needed. This happens more often than actual snow games happen in real life. Madden would convince you it's either perfect fall weather or a blizzard every sunday and nothing else, unless you play in the NFC South, then every other Sunday sees rain.

We see the capability of the engine with Battlefield and what it has been able to do with dynamic weather and the quality of the effects. It would be nice to see that flow over into the sports games moving forward. The current weather in Madden is somewhat sad compared to what Dice has been doing since Battlefield 1.

Certainly. And there certainly needs to be a larger effect for extremely cold weather. It slows guys down, it makes turnovers happen more frequently. It forces playcall adjustment due to more inaccurate passing, and on and on.

Re: Madden 23 Weather

I still can't believe they haven't expanded weather since they basically pared it right down in the transition to the new visual style for Madden 15.

Weather was pretty good on the Xbox 360/PS3 generation.

Even worse, since Madden 15 they basically removed any granularity to seasonal weather. It can be raining in Miami in a July pre-season game and the crowd and people on the sideline will be wearing winter clothing. Conversely it can be sunny in Green Bay in January, player breath will be visible, but the crowd will be in shorts and t-shirts. Can't believe they've just been okay leaving this lack of detail as is for 8 years.

Re: Madden 23 Weather

Sad that NFL Fever still had far better snow and "cold feeling" to it than Madden has. Unfortunately for NFL Fever that's about all it had but...

Re: Madden 23 Weather

But, can you imagine the responses up here if, summer of 2023, Madden announces as part of the new features of Madden 24 "All New Weather. In Madden 24 you will experience weather like never before. Weather is dynamic in Madden 24, where the game may start out with a drizzle and turn into a downpour as the game progresses. Next Gen snow has made it's way into the game this year. As the snow falls, you will actually be able to see the different patterns from each flake. The crowd, coaches, and players now dress according to real time weather, with a few fanatics thrown in there. You may see a few fans shirtless in December at Lambeau field. There will be pre-game weather reports in real-time by way of The Weather Channel which will add immersion to the game."

The response up here will be "This was in the game 20 years ago. Madden is just re-packaging old features and calling them new" lol! Yall know I'm right lol.

It's good to see I'm not the only one who understands why what we, as fans do, sometimes is just NOT GOOD...this is a perfect example.

And yes, I can just see the sarcastic posts "oh golly, coverage is still broken but the rain looks better, you guys happy now??!" and things along that line.

This is why EA has to, in some cases, sort of put on blinders to this kind of stuff.

I have filled out many surveys from EA and they rarely mention weather just in general in gaming worlds. I just did one for the Sims and don't think that was discussed much, if at all.

Re: Madden 23 Weather

I was watching an old ps2 ncaa intro clip, the commentators said it’s bad weather tonight with COLD TEMPERATURES and RAIN.

You literally can’t do that combo on ps5 Madden 22. Embarrassing!!

While I’d welcome that, I think most of us would be satisfied with the weather system just getting up to par with NCAA 14s, cold games WITHOUT snow, heavy snow option and fog would make me happy for years to come.

Re: MADDEN 23 WEATHER

I would like it if the full field is covered in snow. Just like real life. Genuinely bugs me that the numbers on the field are always visible. Think it looks silly. We don’t need to be reminded how far away we are from the end zone. We can interpret it ourselves or look at the score banner.
