vs. CPU All- Madden Defense Strategy

okay boys

last year in madden 20 CFM, the "robo QB's" on all- madden were an issue

at the default sliders in M21- what is the best/ most consistent strategy or recipe to get them the F off the field consistently?

I will start by saying-

user MLBing the middle on 1st & 2nd down and then running cover 3 on 3rd & 4 or over is helping

Re: vs. CPU All- Madden Defense Strategy

Call plays at the play call screen different than what you want on the field, granted it’s cumbersome and requires setting your audibles for every formation but it really keeps the cpu from knowing the play you pick and just automatically beating it.

For example I’ll come out in nickel 2 man under and audible to cover 3. If I wanna bring man blitz I’ll call cover 6 or 4 in the huddle then audible to my man blitz play at the line.

Another thing is calling zone blitzes, then manually swapping assignments. So if my middle linebacker is going to blitz and my defensive end is supposed to drop, I’ll quickly swap their responsibilities pre play at the line.

Granted this stuff doesn’t work every time but it at least keeps completion percentages against me in the 65% range

Re: vs. CPU All- Madden Defense Strategy

Was hard to do much efficiently on defense when my deep zones were back pedaling into space allowing everything open underneath them. Specifically remember a blue zone covering a hitch route. When the WR turned back to the QB, the DB took a step or two towards the WR, and then backpedaled another 6-7 yards until the ball was thrown. This has been a problem for years now.

Re: vs. CPU All- Madden Defense Strategy

Any others?

I’m hearing zone drop adjustments make a huge help. I can’t stand playing the cpu and hate the robo QB but have to deal with it in my CFM since we only have 21 guys.

Hopefully we can come up with a formula to get the cpu off the field consistently like clock work

It’s a cpu... It’s ea...the answer is definitely out there

Setting the Hooks zone adjustment to 10 yards helped me a ton.

User control a CB to take a wr away. Or user a d-lineman to get consistent quick pressure. And sliders....
