Home teams logo replaced by NFL shield on score bug

This completely killed the immersion in the game for me! I haven’t touched, and I won’t touch, my franchise until they fix this.

I don’t play a ton these days. But when I do it makes me choose my team for whatever reason. Can’t skip out of it. I choose the Patriots. Yet my logo is also the NFL Logo in my franchise. As others have said. This isn’t a great look. Also why I am forced to keep choosing a team to be. Is it even tied to franchise mode. Or just MUT.

Each new season (which I guess is a MUT thing) you're prompted to select a team for your Team Pass. No way to opt out. A new season started this week, so that's why your were prompted again.

By default, your Team Pass logo is the NFL logo. You can change it to the logo of whatever team you selected. But your Team Pass logo is always the home team's logo on the scoreboard in Franchise. It's so very stupid.

Thanks for the tip. It is very stupid. Does EA honestly think forcing offline gamers into something MUT related will convert them to MUT players or spend money in MUT. Probably cost more to implement than they made from profits from new customer acquisitions.

Knowing what I know about how much player behavior information video game companies track, I have to imagine that EA Sports probably does have data to back up the idea that they will get those conversions.

I admittedly haven't played Madden much this year, but this new scorebug behavior I'm reading about in this thread (which apparently is not a bug based on posts I am reading?) sounds very intrusive and very stupid.

Like... the purpose of a score bug is to display at a glance the most important information about the state of the football game currently being played in an immediately readable fashion. An important component of the game state is the identity two teams on the field, and a score bug is supposed to easily distinguish the two on-field teams from one another without effort, and additionally associate important information such as points and timeouts with each of the two identified teams.

The ability to override the logo of a team on the score bug with an entirely different logo of a third team not playing in the game immediately makes the score bug significantly harder to use; it's probably still not hard to read, I will admit, but previously the mental effort required was literally zero, and the amount of effort has now increased, and in a way which does not increase the in-game utility of the score bug.

I'm sure some executive forced this idea upon the Madden team so in a future version of the game they can sell custom score bug elements a la profile banners in Call Of Duty or something, so I do not imagine this goes away. Hopefully in the future the developers can at least make this new behavior less intrusive in non-MUT modes, because based on what I've read here I agree that this new behavior is just insufferably dumb and unnecessary.
