What's good to watch on Netflix And Other Streaming Platforms

Re-watched The Last of Us with the new season coming up. I enjoyed it the first time around. I had only watched Walk-throughs of both games the first time I watched the series. But after finally playing both games recently, it did change my stance on the series some. While I still enjoyed the story, It felt like they really dialed back a lot on the action. Besides a few scenes, it didn't really feel like there was a strong infected presence. It felt more like an aftermath of pandemic. In the game, there was a strong infected presence and a lot more action. I still liked the show

I do wonder if they'll follow the Second game's story more. Which is killling off Joel pretty quick. If it does, I'd imagine it'd be 2nd or 3rd episode max. It feels like there is internet divide on Bella Ramsey as Ellie. Could there been a more believable Ellie, yes. But, I don't mind it. My only thing is the 2nd game is evolves on the Revenge/Vengeance path Ellie is on and Bella Ramsey and doesn't have an Intimidating vibe.

Her character in GoT was pretty intense, and was one of the most memorable of the series, despite insanely low screen time

I don't see a strong or compelling motive for a revenge story line at this point, maybe I beacuse I didn't play the games?

It's like not reading a book, prior to watching a movie/series. It's not a necessity to play the game, but it does help you understand the direction and sets expectations. The first game, for the most part, stayed true to the story in the game. They just scaled back on action and infected. For the second game, a revenge path is pretty much the main plot of story.

I literally just finished a rewatch as well.

I for one am incredibly happy that they held back on their use of infected. This is not a video game, and they have no need to be monotonous with their action. They kind of hit every type of bit that you would look to see, and after they did it they really didn't do it again.

I thought it was great decision-making, and kept the season a little more accessible to audiences that think this is just some zombie show. The game was always about how the people (including our main characters) were driven by the outbreak as well.

All this being said, I'm sure they have a lot for us to see in the next two seasons regarding the infected. I bet they even introduce spores at some point, as well as a bloater encounter with our main character(s).

The second game will be split up into two seasons. My guess is Joel dies in the S2 finale, and they use some more of the second season to get us on board with Abby as a person. In the game, you get to know Abby after she kills Joel, but since a game forces you to control her and therefore to finish out the game you kind of have to run along with that, whereas you will lose audiences who see Joel die immediately when watching the show and not know that's coming.

Also, you want Pedro Pascal as long as you can have him. I know the second game does a lot of flashback sequences with him (notably the Wyoming museum), but they might integrate that into the main timeline for us.

As for Bella Ramsey, she definitely was an interesting choice when it comes to a visual contrast from the video game character (in which case I wish that Cailee Spaeny potentially could've been cast at the time), but she is a great actress and holds her own very well for Ellie. I just don't know if she will grow "old enough" by the time she needs to be where Ellie is portrayed in the second game.

First two episodes of The Studio (Apple TV) have been entertaining, if for no other reason than from a technical standpoint.

Just finished the animated Justice League series. Definitely enjoyed it over the Batman Beyond series and about the same as the Batman series. I actually enjoyed that the creator only wanted to do 2 seasons, preferring quality over quantity. It felt like most of the Justices League series were 2 part episodes. My favorite 2 part episodes were the Wild Cards episodes with the Royal Flush gang. They did a good job of setting up the relationship of Green Lantern and Hawk Girl because it was obvious that there was tension between the two. I also liked checking to see who the guess voice actors were and seeing the well known actors. For example, the Royal Flush gang in those episodes became the Teen Titans. It was cool to see

Next on the my list is Justice League Unlimited and the animated Superman series. I wasn't sure about JLU because I usually don't like when a ton of new characters are introduced. But, it's only 39 episodes, so I'll see how it goes
