Roster 2024/2025 (Third Version) Trade Deadline

What's new:
- Roster revised
- some new players created

Some general notes:

- The roster is suitable for the PS3 US version of the game.

- The roster is designed for NHL single/season games. I can't say whether the GM mode works (well).

- Season mode. The number of participating (NHL) teams cannot be expanded. This would require mods. To my knowledge, this isn't possible because it's not a PC game.

I hope you enjoy the new roster.

Sorry for being annoying. I just download that link and put it on a usb and put it on my system? I just remember on the rosters from a few years ago I had to extract them and download some program on my computer.

Save the zipped BLUS file to a USB memory stick.
Insert the USB memory stick into your PS3.
Select the Save Data Utility (PS3) folder.
Select the USB Device (Flash Disk) folder.
You should now see the NHL 25 roster.
Select Options. Select Copy. Select yes and copy the file to the PS3.
Start NHL Legacy.
Go to Save/Load/Delete.
Go to Load.
Choose Rosters.
Load the NHL 25 Roster.

Use the tips from screaminhuman

If you play on PC, you can use Paul45 roster.

Mild critiques, as a Dallas fan—

*The first thing I looked at was Jason Robertson's speed. For a player of his level, he's slow as molasses So seeing his 92/88 Accel/Speed, next to Roope Hintz's 90/87, felt a bit backwards (Hintz could probably challenge Heiska as the best skater on DAL's roster). I'd shave a point off Robo's 91 OVR and add it to Roope's 89 to make them both 90, using their skating attribs to do so.

*Hintz is also the best defensive forward on DAL's roster, FWIW. I'd think he should be the TWF of the two. Not sure about PLY; over his last 3.5 seasons, he has more goals than helpers (126 to 122). Robertson certainly looked like the sniper of the two early in his career, but he's definitely evolved into more of a playmaker.

*Probably semantics—although I suspect it does make a difference when simming games—but Mason Marchment probably deserves a promotion from Grinder to Power Forward. Last season, he surpassed all his career highs, and was on pace to blow those new career highs away this season, before his injury. 90 Discipline feels a bit too high for him, he's definitely one of the troublemakers on the team.

*I don't like to be a homer and say "X or Y is too low" without suggesting offsetting things to reduce, but 4.0 Yellow potential feels pretty low for Wyatt Johnston and Jake Oettinger. I have a chart that shows the correlation between Potential and eventual Overall ratings, and 4.0 Yellow produces an average/mean OVR rating of 82 (Johnston's OVR is already at 87 & Oettinger's is 90).

*4.0 Red produces, on average, an 81 OVR rating, so that seems especially harsh on Mav Bourque; his production isn't impressive, sure, but he's spent most of the season stuck on the fourth line with very little PP time. He does have six goals & nine points in his last 16 games, so he's starting to contribute a bit more with more opportunity. Stankoven's 4.5 Yellow feels about right (86 average OVR), but they are/were the three crown jewels of DAL's farm system; in '21-22, Stankoven, Johnston & Bourque all led the WHL, OHL & QMJHL in points per game, respectively.

*As far as what to lower, the Stars' blueline is very top-heavy between Heiska, Lindell & Harley (all fantastic, all supposed to be representing their countries at the Four Nations, now that Harley's in due to Theodore's injury). After those three, the drop-off is pretty precipitous. I liked the Dumba signing in the offseason, but 84 OVR is /very/ generous. Nils Lundkvist also just hasn't progressed the way the team had hoped, and it's difficult to imagine him ever being more than a third-pair guy; I'd bump his potential down to 3.5 Yellow.

Granted, I dunno how many people play GM Mode, or if I'm one of the only ones, so potential obviously wouldn't be a concern for folks just playing one-off exhibition games.

That said, a BaGM-friendly version of these rosters would be wicked. Might have to say "je regrette" to Vegas & Seattle fans, unless someone happens to be really knowledgeable about modding the game, and the Yotes might have to remain in 'Zona, but I know a lot of folks would appreciate AHL prospects & CHL/Euro draftees.

I think if the focus was just on the prospects with realistic shots at the NHL, and you didn't bother filling out every league with real career minor-leaguers or no-chance prospects, most BaGM fans wouldn't mind, since that would be too much work for too little reason. But I'm sure several folks would be willing to help curate the data for the prospects, myself included. Like I said, that's assuming there's any demand whatsoever for BaGM-friendly rosters—maybe I'm the only one who'd want them, haha.

Can you share this chart that has the potential ratings that correspond to the overall ratings???

Certainly, and apologies for the slow reply. It's for NHL 14 but I assume, since Legacy uses the same system, it's still reasonably accurate (never had any issues with it, anyway).
