Thanks. I figured as much. Just seemed sort of pointless. And unclear as to why we get offers if we aren’t even one of their top targets.

Is it possible to accept a job in the first week of offers then get a better offer in week 2 and take it? Or do no more offer come in after you accept one?

The first week in the Coaching Carousel I was offered HS at Virginia and three OC positions. I defeated Virginia Tech in the 1st round and advanced the week. The next week I have FOUR G5 HC positions; Colorado State, North Texas, Toledo, and Western Michigan. This was my expectation of how the Coaching Carousel would / should work, so I do believe they fixed most of all the issues here.
To be fair, for me at least, this is how things worked before in terms of getting HC offers at the start of your career. Yes, the issue with not getting offers the year you sign an extension has been addressed, but getting HC offers from schools after a year or two as a coordinator has always seemed to be in play

I had started my Dynasty as the OC at Ball State. I was auto-extended in year one (this was before the most recent patch that fixed the "no offers when extended" issue), but then received several HC offers after my second season at Ball State, including Colorado State. I actually got P4 HC offers that offseason, too: Iowa, Minnesota, SMU, and North Carolina.

The bigger concern for me has been the lack of HC offers after that first batch you get. In my case, I took the CSU HC offer, and then never received a single HC offer at a P4 school until 7 or 8 years later, despite making multiple CFPs and winning 6 conference titles with the Rams. My only HC offers were to 1-2* teams like Eastern Michigan. I finally got an offer to be the HC at Wisconsin in 2036, and Wisconsin is my coach's alma mater and pipeline; I feel like those factors were honestly the only reason I even got that job offer. And even after 2 years with the Badgers, I am getting zero P4 HC offers during the carousel...all my job offers are coordinator "downgrades".

It will be interesting to see your Dynasty progress, as far as if you get more HC offers in upcoming seasons.

Every Dynasty takes on a life of it’s own. The dynamic variability of dynasty mode on CFB 25 is quite frankly second to none on console sports games.

So here I am in Year 5 of my dual NC State and now starting in year 6 Alabama Dynasty.

We started as an HC at FAU, left after year one to be an OC at Notre Dame….got renewed in Year 4 pre patch that fixed the auto renew bug. So we stuck around for year 5 went 13-0 and have a bye in the CFP.

3 great HC offers were available and another OC offer.

FSU
Alabama
Michigan

2 Head coaches fired after sub par years at FSU and Bama and the Michigan coach moved on to the NFL.

OC job at Georgia.

I jumped on the Bama offer.

So they do happen….it’s all timing and circumstance.

I am so locked into this game……it’s ridiculous.

350 hours now and going strong.

If the question is ''Who's leg do you have to hump to get a HC offer around here?'', doesn't winning solve all ills?

Edit- and I don't mean ''force sim'' winning. I mean actually taking the time to build a true winner. Force winning is not winning IMO.

Yup. I built up my prestige to A+ in 4 seasons as an OC at Notre Dame…..and some great jobs opened up at the right time. Feels so rewarding getting this HC job at Bama.

Hope it works out.

Re: What does it take for a guy to get a HC offer anymore?!?

Just started playing a week ago and after year 1 as the OC of Iowa (lost in the national championship) I was offered two HC roles for Northern Illinois and Louisville as well as OC offers. Didn’t accept any offers and didn’t click to sign my 5 year contract extension, it just auto renewed.

I only play on offense, heavy run team
Pro style
C or C- coach prestige to start, raised to A after yr 1

I’ve found in my dynasties that I get better HC offers if my coaching trait is NOT recruiting.
