If Pam Ward had a "sexier" voice, would she be more tolerable?

Been watching a bit of these college softball games on ESPN the past few weeks, which almost invariably have female announcers. They never bothered me. Initially I suppose I just figured it was because it was a female sport. But today I flipped on a game for a second and, lo and behold, Pam Ward was calling the game: immediately I cringed and changed the channel.

So naturally I got to thinking, maybe it has nothing to do with "a chick calling my college football games," but instead it's just a matter of Pam Ward having a terrible voice. All things being equal, what if she sounded like a total fox?

Feels kinda sexist any way you slice it, but nonetheless ...

What say you, OS?

Her voice is annoying, but it is more her lack of a basic understanding of football and numerous announcing mistakes that makes her terrible.

My problem really is not that she is a woman. IIRC, ESPN had a woman doing one or two of the spring games (maybe Doris Burke?) and I actually enjoyed her commentary.

I don't want to hear a woman's voice during play by play, I don't mind a sexy voice for sideline reporting, though. Her voice is annoying, but I also couldn't imagine listening to a sexy voice on play by play. I can't satnd her at all, she somehow manages to make midday Big Ten football games worse than they already are.

Women shouldn't be announcing football. Period.

Sideline reporting? Sure, but not play-by-play or color. Never. It's like mixing oil and water in my book.

Agreed. Equality is one thing, but some jobs are made for men and some are made for women. I don't want a woman announcing my football or working on my car. Hmmm. Why do I feel like Dennis Leary all of a sudden?

It is just that simple. Guys should talk the entire game, and not be seen. An attractive woman should talk for only a few minutes while we get a full shot of her body. That's how football is meant to be broadcast.

Didn't she do some basketball games last year? During the Louisville @ WVU game they had a guy who was a WVU alum doing commentary with some chick who also basically just cheered for WVU the entire time. I had to mute the volume at half time.
