Re: Windy City Revival: His Airness Returns

Bulls Set to Make Big Announcement
(Gar Forman, Tom Thibodeau, and Jerry Reinsdorf are seated in front of a room full of media set to announce something that will shake the NBA)

Gar Forman and Tom Thibodeau set to make their announcement

June 25, 2010

Jerry Reinsdorf: We stumbled up on a bit of incredible technology and we were presented with an unbelievable opportunity that we could not pass up. I will let Gar open with some statements and then he will officially make the announcement.

Gar Forman: A group of scientists came to us about 8 months ago with some news of something they had discovered. I didn't understand all the scientific mumbo jumbo, but what they told me sounded very intriguing. They told me they had been working on a project for the last 5 or 6 years on the ability to go back in time, a time machine of sorts. There is a particular scientist in this group that I am very good friends with and one night over drinks we got to talking and we got on the subject of the Bulls glory days. I jokingly said how great it would be if we could take any version of the 1990's Michael Jordan and put him on this current Bulls team. That's when my friend informed me of their project. After several months of experimenting and heavy discussion we decided to take advantage of this incredible technology.

Now, for the announcement....Michael Jordan (1991-1992 version) will be joining the 2010-2011 Chicago Bulls.

I will now take questions.

Media Member #1: How is it fair for you guys to be able to take advantage of this and not other teams? If you are able go back and get Jordan, shouldn't other teams be allowed to do the same?

Forman: Yes, they should, and they did. Other teams around the league did the same as us. David Stern made it permissible for any team to bring back one player. As soon as we decided to try this, we went to Stern, and he quickly called an owners meeting with all 30 NBA teams. After it was decided everyone would be allowed to go back and sign one player, most did so.

Media Member #2: Tom, by signing Jordan, what are you expecting from your new look squad?

Thom Thibodeau: We feel like we have a team more than capable of winning a championship. Michael addresses our biggest need at the shooting guard position. I'm very honored to have the chance to coach a player of his magnitude.

Jerry Reinsdorf: Like we've already stated, this is too incredible of an opportunity to pass up. We had to take advantage of this and we're very glad other teams around the league are doing the same. That will be all of the questions for now. There will be a press release of our decision along with the other signings by the other teams of the league in the coming weeks.

New Look Bulls off to 2-0 Start

Chicago, IL -- Chicago's new look team brought high expectations, and through the first two games, they have not disappointed. In the first game of the season they Bulls traveled to Oklahoma City to take on Kevin Durant, Shawn Kemp, and the Oklahoma City Thunder. A back and forth contest ended with Chicago winning 95-91. Three nights later the Bulls made easy work of Isiah Thomas and the Pistons in Detroit in a 116-89 game.
