BOSTON CELTICS BACK AND READY FOR ACTION.

The Boston Celtics, the most storied franchise in basketball history has had an amazing past 2 years. In 2007 with the arrival of KG, and Ray Allen, fans knew this could be the year they have been waiting for. Ray Allen and KG teamed up with Paul Pierce and created the Big 3. The Celtics dominated the NBA that year and went on to win their 17th NBA Championship. The Celtics didn't want to be done though.. they came back in 2008/2009 and made it deep into the playoffs. But they lost to the Magic because what many people thought was lack of depth in their rotation. The Celtics also had the question mark on their back.. are they to old to compete for a championship anymore? The Celtics are coming back in the 2009/2010 looking for another championship ot hang from the banners. The Celtics want to prove a point in this league that they can come back, that they can still compete, and that they can still win. Coach Doc Rivers was quoted saying "This is our year. Lakers step back. Lebron step back. Magic step back. Everyone look out for us, this is our year to win and we will win. I promise. To all of you fans, I promise a 18th championship by the end of June 2010, quote me on it." Doc Rivers has a lot to accomplish after a quote like that. The weight of the team is going to be put on the Big 3, no doubt, but the other two starters have to help them accomplish what they all want - number 18, and number 2 for all of them. Rondo, Allen, Pierce, Garnett and Perkins will all grace the floor on opening night, crowds growing wild, they all have the mentallity, WIN! They all have the same goal, WIN! They have want one thing... TO WIN!

Starting Lineup.
PG: Rajon Rondo
SG: Ray Allen
SF: Paul Pierce
PF: Kevin Garnett
C: Kendrick Perkins

6th Man: Eddie House
7th Man: Rasheed Wallace

KEY PLAYERS:

Rajon Rondo: Rondo is going to have to man the PG role this season, and many people are wondering if he can do it. In order for the Celtics to win the championship, Rondo is going to have to have leadership and lots of determination.

Paul Pierce: Paul is the captain of this Celtics team, and in my mind, the best offensive player. Paul is going to need to help the younger guys (Rondo, Davis, Perk, Williams) all mature into good bench players in order for the Celtics to make it far.

Eddie House: He is the 6th man, he is a leader on the bench. House is going to have to step in and score points during crucial points in the game. With Ray Allen's shaky ankles, he might even have to start a few games this year, he has to remember though, there are other options on the court.

Re: Boston Celtics.

CELTICS CRUISE TROUGH PRE-SEASON, WANT TO WIN.

The Boston Celtics absolutelty dominated in their pre-season games, winning every one. The least they won by was 7 points! They blew every team out and were only down once, which was the first basketball made in the game in the first game played. Rondo had the best pre-season out of them all, only played 11 minutes a game but averiging 11 points and 8 assists! Many fans were pleased with this and say they want this and more in the regular season. If Rondo plays like that, the Celtics can easily capture this championship. Other bench players who played well were Shelden Williams, who many consider a bust, actually played amazing and started quite a few games, impressing coach Doc Rivers enough to have him as a good option on the bench. Glen Davis also played well, playing at PF when Kevin Garnett was not playing and he will be a solid big man off the bench.

Rajon Rondo - Impressing fans and coaches all around the league, Rondo showed he has the potential to be an elite NBA PG and he can dominant both on the offensive end, and on the defensive collecting 1.2 steals a game. Rondo knows he has a tough year ahead of him, but he is welcoming it with open arms.

Re: Boston Celtics.

BIG NIGHT FROM RONDO, BIG WIN FOR CELTICS

The Boston Celtics won on opening night, against their confrence rivals, the Cleveland Cavaliers. Paul Pierce shut down LeBron James and held him to 15 points, 9 of them coming in the first, all of 3 pointers. Rajon Rondo was a machine on the defensive end, picking up 4 steals and leading the team in blocks, with one. Rondo also picked up his slack on the offensive end, getting 16 points and 7 asissts, along with 3 boards. KG had the big night for the Celtics, getting a doulbe-doulbe with 23 points, and 12 rebounds. Paul Pierce had 13 points and 4 assists, and Ray Allen collected 16 points, draining three 3's. Kendrick Perkins had a great time on the boards, grabbing 13, but didn't score any points. Coming off of the bench, Eddie House had 6 and Glen Davis had 8. The Celtics won tonight 104 - 87. The Cavaliers coach Mike Brown said this after the game "Long practice tommorow for the guys. Don't wanna talk right now." The opposing coach, Doc Rivers was quoted saying, "One of many wins we will win together as a team this year."

"THE BIG TICKET"

Kevin Garnett: KG had a huge opening night on what he hopes is going to be a huge season. He collected a double double and you could tell he was pumped up and playing his heart out. The Celtics, and Kevin, hope to see this from him numerous times this year.
