And another easy win, though we're not dominating any category statistically. We're 2nd in walks allowed (no surprise) and 5th in ERA, but most all other stats we're middle of the pack if not lower. Brandon Nimmo is leading the Grapefruit League in AVG and OPS, but I'm sure that won't last.

Looking ahead, it's more of the same but we'll add Detroit and the Yankees to our Spring campaign. Detroit is ahead of us in the standings and the Yankees are the Yankees.

Houston keeps us in check and puts the Spring Training series in their favor 2-1 with a 4-2 extra innings win. Not much going for us in this one. Franky Lindor broke .200 and hit his first HR. We'll stay in St. Lucie for another one with Washington.

Francisco Lindor lead the comeback for an 8 to 4 win over the Cardinals with his second home run of the spring. After a 4 run deficit, Lindor hit a 3 run homer (his second is as many games) in the 3rd, followed by a base-clearing triple by Starling Marte in the 4th. We'll travel next to CACTI Park for our fourth meeting with the Astros.

Houston put up a fight but couldn't keep pace with our output. Another 8 runs and another win ties us for the top of the Grapefruit League with the Phillies. The Yankes are up next so, we'll see how we handle them. I'm starting to think I should look into Legend plus unless an update changes things.

Brandon Nimmo and Pete Alsono each tallying their 4th home run of the spring was enough to defeat the Yankees 2-1 at Clover Park. The game wasn't as close as the boxscore might lead you to believe. The Yanks didn't feel like a threat at all, (maybe they're slumping) and my aggressiveness on the base paths with a team ranked 26th in speed, helped them get out of trouble.

On the technical side: I think Meter pitching is designed more for simulation than Pin Point, so I'll try that for a few games.

Giving up only 2 runs but scoring none, we came out flat against the Miami Marlins in Roger Dean Stadium after a day off. We struck-out 13 times in a 2-hit effort and ended our 3 game winning streak. That seems to be our pattern though; lose 1, win 3. I even tried to "cheat the system" by leaving in Lindor, Alonso, and Marte to face Tanner Scott to try and ruin the shutout, but it wasn't our night.

Our first consecutive loss thus far through 14 games. The Cardinals took a No-Hitter into the 7th and a shutout into the 9th before beating us 8-1 in the rain at Roger Dean Stadium. The 8 earned-runs-against took the team ERA back to over three at 3.12 for third best in all of baseball. Seattle and Philly stay at the top with 2.53 and 2.62, respectively.

About the No-No; When Lindor got on base in the 7th with a single, the commentary said "and the bid for history is gone". I, of course, laughed but upon a some research there is a little "history" to Spring Training no-hitters. There was even a Perfect game thrown not so long ago. Check it out here.

Our first game against Detroit and more of what's been prevalent so far: the cpu gets plenty of hits and RISP, but can't get 'em in. I do, however, think Meter Pitching is a better choice for Simulation. Strike % is lower and I've thrown 5 walks in the last 2 games. Also, GISP and HBP seems to be a problem as it has been in prior years.
