How Do You Wash Your Hands?

So I've always washed first, then applied soap, then washed. But the other day, I saw a guy soap first and just wash once. It made me curious as to what FOFC does. Ergo, the poll.

Started soap first wash next after working concrete one summer during college. I couldn't get clean the other way, and one of the other guys told be to lather up with the liquid soap first, then wash, worked like a champ.

My adopted son does soap/wash. It drives me crazy because he just puts the soap in his hand, turns on the faucet and washes the soap down the drain. He refuses to take any instruction on this point.

Good thing he doesn't go into the restroom with my wife (an RN), because she's obsessively wash/soap/wash with good lather, scrubbing all the way up to the elbows for at least 30 seconds, and God save you if you turn the water off with your bare hands before you dry them.

I am becoming very obsessive with how I wash my hands as I get older and see more and more guys leave the public restrooms without even a rinse.

RN style for me.

If I just pee at a urinal the chances of me hand washing depend largely on the cleanliness and setup of the bathroom (and if I'm just drinking/using utensils or eating with my hands, in which case I'll make sure to keep one hand away from surfaces and have that hand be the only one that later touches food). I honestly think my dick is cleaner than a lot of faucets and door handles (or at least has less harmful bacteria to me).

Bit of water, soap, quick rub around the hands, rinse. 5 seconds max.

I remember reading an article a few years ago that said the "advised" washing method that takes like two minutes will save you up to two bouts of a stomach virus/flu/cold a year. Not sure how scientific or even true that was but taking that at face value, seems like a horrible ROI.

This is about how I do it. Rinse, soap & rub, rinse and out in 10 secs.

This ... and more and more are taking a leak or a dump when talking on a cell phone. Pretty weird to me.

There's like a secret society of hand washers at my office. We know who we are and we know who the non-washers are.

"Do not eat the candy in Doug's office. He doesn't wash...."

There is one dude who takes a leak then fills his hands with water, takes a drink then washes.

I rinse, lather (usually somewhat past my wrists), then rinse.

Wash soap wash for me. And if it's a public restroom, I won't touch a surface. I'll use a paper towel to open the door. I'm a bit OCD on that. I may also have an obsession with hand sanitizer.

Same.
Got in a similar conversation the other day with a friend.
If its just pee, other than the 3rd grade silliness of touching your privates hee-hee-hee...my junk was washed that AM and then put away completely covered and protected from any environmental contamination inside clean and washed clothes. Then it came out into open air, urinated and went back away. How dirty is it?

I mean I dont know anyone that scratches their ear, then immediately walks to the sink to wash their hands. And your ear is definitely dirtier than your junk.

Working in construction for my entire adult life, I wash my hands BEFORE I pee.

Do you realize how bad and unhygienic that is?

So you'd have no problem with sticking your finger down there after a day out and about, and then putting it in your mouth. Finger licking good!

(Sorry for the gross example, but, well... it's not a super-clean area, mere inches away from a very unsanitary area.)

Let's ease up before you start making the case that a good old fashioned spontaneous BJ is some kind of unhygienic disaster.

I support no conclusions that rule out spontaneous BJs.

Next 2 guys beat me to the punch.
I mean I'm definitely not happy hippy anti soap dude...but I also dont think its automatically "gross" just because its in my pants.

Would I have a problem putting my hand down my own pants and then in my mouth? I mean I wouldnt go do it just for a taste test, but it wouldnt gross me out either. If it was a "bar bet" or guys talk dare, "wipe your hand across your junk then stick a finger in your mouth" yeah. Id do that without concern.

Im not sticking my finger down YOUR pants...but mine? yeah no real problem.

Would you stick your finger to your chest and then in your mouth? What about your knee (assuming wearing pants not shorts)?

LOL.
That's an interesting way to twist it.

But hand sanitizer..yeah that's pretty bad shit and can causes some issues. I avoid it in almost all cases.
