Draft Crush: Who do you really want your team to pick?

Talking NFL - You've seen the mock drafts, maybe you've read the scouting reports.

And yeah, BPA, and all that ... but who do you secretly, REALLY want your team to draft? Or even trade up to draft?

I'll volunteer first:

Denver Broncos: QB Paxton Lynch, Memphis.

Yes, it will probably mean a trade up (because I can see a QB-needy team leapfrogging from the 2nd up into 1st to get ahead of Denver), but I think this guy has future star written all over him.

Now bringing The Des Moines Dragons back to life, and the joke's on YOU, NFL!
I came to the Crossroad. I took it. And that has made all the difference.

Bucs - WR Laquon Treadwell

That's who I want. We'll probably go CB or DL though.

NY Giants - RB Ezekiel Elliott

The Giants have the QB, the WRs (maybe, depends if Cruz's knee is trashed or not), the OL has matured and gotten better. A true, all-down, all-facets of the game weapon at RB could really tie the offense together like a good rug. Jennings is a decent rusher. Can't block, can't catch (and is 31). Love Vereen catching out of the backfield, running draws and his pass blocking, but he is not an every down back. I want what could be the next Marchall Faulk to be a Giant.

As a Rams fan, my pick is Carson Wentz. I am a fan of QBs pushing each other, and think he and Sean Mannion can provide that. I doubt he drops to the Rams spot, outside of that, Doctson is my next pick.

Not nearly familiar enough with the prospects to name names, but for the Seahawks I'm hoping to see OLx2 and a pass rushing DT as 3 of their first 4 picks. Preferably RT and C for the early OL picks.

Going with WR-Treadwell for the Giants.

Really would be an instant upgrade and would help keep the chains moving when defenses focus on ODB....which has been a problem at times forcing too many 3 and outs. And that also helps to keep our own defense fresh and hopefully playing with the lead.

If Goff falls far enough, I want the Saints to jump up and take him.

I know it's a wishlist pick, but I think you need to restrict your choices to players actually eligible for the draft.

a hitman with a contract on Roger Goodell.

(kidding)

Seriously, I think we need two things, a WR and some offensive line help.

Yeah, I'm a bit confused about the Paxton Lynch love, I think he's as likely to be a bust as any QB I can remember. That being said, pretty sure the last guy I said that about on this board was Andre Drummond, so yeah...

I'm confused about the Wentz love.

I've been watching Memphis as often as possible since seeing Lynch play in 2014 and he is big, mobile and throws one of the best balls that I have seen.

1st round, Bills will probably go with a DB or WR, I would like them to pick up a good strong OL that will be around for a while..

My crush would be my hometown BYU boy, Bronson Kaufusi coming in and playing at DE on Mario Williams old side, and he can play the snaps that Williams was and be just as if not, more effective. They can get him in the 2nd late and maybe early 3rd.

I'd like to see my beloved Cardinals draft a replacement for Palmer (or do they believe in Barkley that much?) sooner rather than later given his playoff performance last year-all depends on what is there late first or second round I guess. Given the Jonathan Cooper trade, I would not be surprised if they go O-Line again.

Edit: they don't have a second rounder anymore with the Cooper trade, so more pressure on them to take a QB if one is there that they like.

Tajae Sharpe if he falls past the 3rd round due to his baby hands and lack of "deep threat" speed. Not just a UMass guy, but one who's basically been the main option since halfway through his freshman year and still put up absurd numbers. Good hands, great route runner, productive.

But there are a lot of WR's I really like. Will Fuller and Corey Coleman both jump off the page for me and I'd take either over Treadwell or Doctson, but unlikely they'd fall to where the Patriots could trade up to. Even Tyler Boyd always impressed me when I watched Pitt play.

And Jaylon Smith is floating out there as a potential really interesting pick if we keep back to back picks at the end of Round 2. But he also seems like a classic guy that the Steelers grab 2 picks ahead of us.

Scooby Wright at LB and either Doctson/Thomas/Shepard at WR. Wouldn't mind Kendall Fuller at CB either.

I may be less confused about Wentz. Just heard the Browns want the Stanford kid over him. That pretty much tells us which one will work out and which one won't.

Edit: sorry, meant Cal, not that there's much difference... Somewhere on the wrong side of the Rockies...

I'd be in for Doctson at WR. Also, I love Mackenzie Alexander from Clemson at CB, but that's not as much a position of need as WR, LB and D-line.

This is a lot harder to follow when y'all don't tell us which NFL team you want your draft crush to go to ...

I don't know or care enough about the draft to know who the vikings should take in the draft, but I am happy that the rams appear to have interest in wentz and traded to the #1 slot. Was afraid he might end up in cleveland.

I agree fans of the other 31 teams should, but I'm a Patriots fan. The world revolves around us.
