In what is quickly becoming a treasured tradition, the Rangers have announced new food items for the season. The new crown jewel is the Wicked Pig. A Hawaiian roll layered with pulled pork, thick cut Danish bacon, a split sausage, prosciutto, thick sliced ham, covered in barbecue sauce, topped with coleslaw and pork rinds.

You can get a $154 38 oz Pat LaFreida tomahawk chop at Citi this year. I'll allow you to finish it before I beat you over the head with the bone for being an asshole.

Well that's why, but imh-pork-smoking-o, that sauce is ruinous on pork BBQ. That sandwich screams for a molasses based sauce.

I have no real opinion. By now I just know that sauce as "the one I used to almost always buy before checking the ingredients".

Somebody needs to explain to MLB that the best way to start your season is not with four games on a Sunday. I will never understand why baseball doesn't have every team playing on that first Monday. Hit fans with it and make it like it use to be in terms of a tremendous day of pomp and circumstance.

I am predicting SF over CHI in the NLCS and KC over BOS in ALCS, with KC winning again (probably to make up for not picking KC to be in the playoffs last season).

I am not a Rockies or Giants fan, but I will be in Denver next week and have the opportunity to go to a game at Coors Field. Is it worth going out of my way to go to the game there ?

It is worth going out of your way to go to any MLB ballpark (except Oakland Coliseum) and Coors in LoDo Denver is one of the best experiences.

File this away under "fun little things to know".

Ji Man Choi, Korean backup 1B/OF, has made the Angels 25 man roster.

And supposedly there is a section of the OF in his wheelhouse that will be known as the Ji Spot.

I think it would be good business to do this. I forgot the Rays were even playing yesterday till the 8th inning (and so did they, but that's another story).

Glad to see the Royals pick back up where they left off (except for the Soria hiccup). Pretty much looked like they had never taken a day off.

Glad to see our team do this for the Mets. At least eased the pain a bit.

Mets get caught up in Royals’ banner-raising | Newsday

Quote:
Never before in baseball history had a World Series loser been forced to watch the winner raise a flag before its opener, because never before has there been a World Series rematch on Opening Day.

The Royals displayed class in showing a Mets highlight video before introducing the visitors. They also did not include in the Royals highlights the errant throw home by first baseman Lucas Duda that was pivotal to the Royals’ Game 5 clincher at Citi Field.

Probably a jaw dropping amount. You'll just have to laugh at how many they are selling compared to other teams.

I wish I were a Royals fan because I love this hat. (Found when I was googling what the ones looked like from last night) The Cardinal Mizzou night ones always look terrible.

Tempted to bet the under for the Braves. I don't see a scenario where they don't get to 100 losses.

Well the Phillies and Marlins aren't exactly juggernauts so don't forget the mass amount of games they will play against both of these. 100 losses is a lot like 100 wins, not easy to do. Though I do agree they don't have much on that team.

The two highest paid players on the Braves payroll don't play for the team anymore.

Nationals brought in a reliever with the bases loaded, 2 outs. He proceeded to bounce 4 pitches to the plate. He literally only threw a pitch across the plate on a hop.

Seeing the Stealth Bomber do a flyover never gets old. It was circling over our winery before the game waiting for the national anthem. We're used to seeing it around here since it's based 40 miles from KC, but it's still all kinds of awesome.

The boys in blue? I've never heard any team other than the Dodgers being called this. I Google it and all I got were dodger references. I'm obviously a Dodger fan so I've grown up hearing them referred to this but I would imagine growing up an Indians fan and hearing a Braves fan refer to themselves as the tribe, would also ring alarms in my head.
