I'll add Michigan @ ND. This is the last in the series until further notice. Neither team has an excuse to play poorly. The winner will by default be of some importance during the rest of the year. With ND missing MSU this year, a win here could could make a New Year's Day bowl a rather easy sell. If Michigan wins, they could be making a case of being the best in the Big Ten outside of MSU. This is really one of only three real possible losses for them and that's including a now much weaker OSU.

Iowa hosts Ball State. Need to fix some things on defense, esp. with Pitt looming.

Excited about Mizzou's road trip to Toledo. They're a very experienced team and it should be a great test for the young Tigers. Looks like the current line is varying 4-6 points in favor of Mizzou right now.

Well it certainly isn't Rutgers being the loss. PSU is a very maybe, but that's not a deep team so any real injuries could derail them, and I'm not sure how high their ceiling is anyway. Maryland is interesting, but let's wait and see more than just James Madison being on the schedule. Add in it being at Michigan, and Maryland playing OSU, Iowa, @Wisconsin, @PSU, MSU, and then @Michigan. Considering there is no bye week before the Michigan game, I have to wonder how much they will have in the tank for that game. Also consider Michigan has Indiana, NW, and then a bye week before the game. I pegged Michigan 8-4 for the season. With Miller being out, 10-2 isn't that crazy.

Cartman, wish work wouldn't have screwed me this weekend in regards to my requested vacation.

Anyways, I think it is going to be a great game and throw in Ash being out and your starting C out of the game, I have gone from we are going to get destroyed to this will be a slug fest.

Enjoy the game! I will be watching from a ballroom in Peoria, IL

I was very pleased with how the Texas defense played last weekend. I don't think we'll see a repeat of BYU running wild.

As for the QB situation, that is going to determine the game. Having the C out definitely hurts, as he was by far the most experienced lineman. On the plus side, the new C and QB should be familiar with each other, since they have been on the 2nd team together. I'd also be surprised if the coaching staff hadn't planned for Ash not being there, considering how many games he missed last season. I'm sure that BYU is going to stack the box to stop the run, and how Swoopes handles that will be key.

Yeah I would have loved to have made it too, should be a really good game, but at least it is not on Friday so I can watch it live.

Just saw Strong kicked two more offensive linemen off the team today, both tackles. That means the UT line will have 4 or 5 career starts between them Saturday. Texas is not going to get shredded like they did last year for sure, their defense looked much faster and aggressive in game 1, but I don't see them putting up more than 17 points on BYU offensively.

It is going to be a physical game, hopefully Taysom has the time to throw he did against UConn because BYU is will be much better on the outside with Blackmon back from suspension, Leslie at 100% and Matthews creating physical mismatches at 6'6. We need all three of these guys to ball to win.

One of them was suspended for the North Texas game as well. He was supposed to get back on the field this weekend, but obviously messed up again.

It is going to be interesting due to Oregon's lack of ability to beat physical teams, and MSU's lack of playing against top tier spread teams.

Tusculum allowed minus-100 total yards and minus-124 yards rushing to set NCAA single-game records in both categories Thursday night in a 71-0 victory over the College of Faith in Greeneville, Tennessee.

Tusculum (1-0), a Division II school, had three safeties, which tied a D-II mark, according to the Pioneers' website.

The previous record for fewest total yards allowed was minus-69, by Division II school Fort Valley State against Miles in 1993. The previous record for fewest yards rushing allowed was minus-112, by Division III program Coast Guard against Wesleyan (Connecticut) in 1989. Fort Valley State also had three safeties against Miles in '93.

Yep. Saban actually got him the job there, they were college teammates at Bowling Green. It's crazy when you think about the staff that Saban joined on the Browns with Bill Bellicheck. A real testament to giving guys more than only a few years before cleaning house.

Seems like an easy bet for MSU. I think one thing going against MSU is it being on the road and Big Ten/Pac 12 games tend to swing towards the home team.

I read on Wikipedia that Urban Meyer tried to get on Saban's Toledo staff but was turned down. College football coaching is fascinating stuff.

What on Earth was #21 doing there. Leading with your shoulder in that situation? Seriously? What's funny is the announcers are spending five minutes talking about the team speed of Nebraska vs. McNeese St. . . that wasn't a team speed play. That was a brain dead defensive back making one of the single worst plays I have ever seen in a football game.

Ping Dr. Sak again. 2 separate plays in the first 5 minutes here at UMass.

Opening kickoff bounces off a players facemask OOB at the 7... Refs say there was no possession, give it to them at the 35? (I guess maybe that works by the letter of the rule?)

2nd play, it's 3rd & 12, UMass gets called for defensive holding. The refs spot it as 10 yards and 3rd and 2? (After initially calling it 4th&2, then huddling.) No way that ones right, is it? I mean, worked in our favor it wasn't an automatic 1st down, but confused our D so much they just ran for the 1st.

Don't want to jinx it (like we're not going to lose anyway), but UMass is actually beating a BCS team at halftime!

And fwiw we might have a legit NFL TE that Whipple picked up from JUCO ranks thru his Miami connections. He got cleared 3 days ago and has 2 TD catches, including a potential Top 10 play.

Seems like he's allergic to FG's. Kevin Hogan is no where near ready or talented enough to be an NFL QB.
