Houston FOFC Get Together: 7/21 Astros vs Mariners

Do you like bad baseball? Do you like oppressively hot summers? Do you like meeting creepy online people? Then this is for you!

As in the title, we're going to try to get together a FOFC meetup in Houston at the Astros game on 7/21.

PilotMan's going to be in town, as part of his new job. My wife and I will be going. But, if anyone else is around, the more the merrier. Heck, bring your family if you think it will insulate you from the scary online people. Or don't bring the family if you want to keep them from the scary online people. It's all good.

I'm looking to get tickets in the next week or two for everyone so we're in the same section so try to get back with me by, say, next Friday June 28th so I can get the tickets next weekend.

Price range: I don't have any real restrictions but I'm not looking to spend more than $40 for bad baseball. If someone has a tighter budget or seating preference, there's a decent variety of prices and seats: just let me know. The Astros go as low as $7 and I'm not opposed to doing that if more people can come to the game that way. Or, if you prefer gluttony and I know it's my favorite deadly sin: the All You Can Eat Seats are $30 (my preference, tho we should get on this fairly quick as they go fast). There are a decent number of field box seats that could be had in that $25-40 range on Stubhub but they're down the line a bit and I think it gets sunny down there as the afternoon moves on. Honestly, I don't think I've been to a Sunday afternoon game at Minute Maid.

7/20 is also an option but 7/21 is preferred for scheduling.

I've sent out PMs to a couple of the folks in the area that have expressed an interest in the past and there are probably more of you I don't know about. I'll update the thread as we go along to keep track of who is going to be there (unless you want me to keep it anonymous and I could call you "Mystery Guest!" just to do it)

So, c'mon- meet some of your fellow FOFCers and see some truly bad baseball. What's not to like?!?

I would LOVE to go, but my July schedule is already made and I'm working that weekend. And even if I were somehow able to switch shifts so I could get the time off, I don't know that my wife would be ok with making the trip with our three month old or with being left home alone for the weekend the the kiddos.

Hopefully sometime in the future I'll be able to make it down there for a game and to meet up, but now isn't the best time... :-/

I hear ya Jeebs, been there and done that. Now with my youngest being 9 I can tell you that it will get easier years down the road.
