The Original Text Sim

Neat story from Grantland about an IBM programmer that created a rudimentary baseball sim on an IBM 1620 during the 60s. Even a link to a 1962 Pittsburgh radio broadcast in which the host announced an entire game played by the machine.

John Burgeson, an IBM computer, and the start of baseball video games - Grantland

Nice write-up (as much as I hate acknowledging anything that comes from Grantland).
