Windows 7 wired vs. wireless question.

This seems like it should be so simple, but I can't figure it out. When I have a wired internet connection, I want that to be used. Only use wireless if there is no wired connection present. Is there a way besides turning off wireless every time I am wired that I can make it do this???

Go to Start > Control Panel > Network and Sharing Center
Press and release the ALT key (this will bring up a tool bar at the top)
Click on Advanced > Advanced Settings
In the top window, move your wired connection to the top of the list

There is no "Network and Sharing Center" in my CP.

Found it in a subfolder...

I hit ALT from there, and a toolbar comes down, but there's no "Advanced" option now.

Try clicking on Change Adapter Settings from that window, then hit the ALT key

Ah, that worked. I hope that fixes it permanently. At least it does for now. Thanks!
