Football Mogul 2012 - FREE

They must of had a banner year for Baseball Mogul 2012.

I know it's not the perfect football text sim, but for free.. I'm downloading it tomorrow when it comes out.

Football Mogul 2012

Thanks for the heads up...never been able to get into it, but maybe the free version will give me extra incentive

Baseball Mogul is a much more detailed and fine-tuned product. Until Football Mogul reaches the same quality level, it doesn't seem right to charge full price.

So how does he explain the years of charging full price?

Yeah, I was just thinking the same thing. It's not like this is a new product.

probably because he hasn't been able to shift even small amounts of product at full price so offering it for free might get more exposure for it.

And isnt it like the 5th or so version anyways? That means it should be detailed and fine tuned already....no excuses....

I did buy last years version.....getting better but not even close to FOF

What keeps this game lagging behind? Is the AI poor? Player dev issues? Poor sim engine with unbelievable stats? What is the games biggest issue?

Maybe I'm just itching for a football sim and FREE makes it a no brainer. I did buy BM 2012 and really like it. Hopefully, Clay gets some time to really work on FM 2012 and beyond.

How was FM 2011? Is it at least playable?

It was playable but not worth what I paid. Still, as a free product it would have been decent to good. The stats engine needs some serious work...I don't recall all the issues but sack numbers were way off for me and there were issues with backups getting even a modicum of playing time.

I actually like Clay's baseball game the most, probably because it is the easiest to get into .

dola: with that said I may at least try it for free, just to see. What worries me is of the testimonials on the site the first one is basically "the rosters are accurate".

Actually, the first one is blank. The second one is that the rosters are accurate.

Trust me guys. I love Baseball Mogul so it's not like I'm trying to rail against the company but any time you put into playing Football Mogul will make you feel like a complete idiot. Luckily you only need to spend 5-10 minutes with it before realizing the error of your ways and the enormous stupidity of your decision.

It's fantastic, but if you don't have at least a passing familiarity with soccer, you might struggle for a bit.

Is it 100% free?

No. Not really. To get a free download of Football Mogul 2012, we would like you to please do one of the following:

1. Like us on Facebook

If you really want, you can "unlike" us right after you download Football Mogul. But we hope that you like the game, and that you tell your friends about it.

2. Sign up for our newsletter

Every month or so, I send a short newsletter announcing any free updates or new versions of Baseball Mogul or Football Mogul. This list is double opt-in, and we don't share it with anyone. You can unsubscribe at any time. But it would be nice if you consider buying Baseball Mogul 2012, and helping us build a better Football Mogul.

Sadly I have no idea where my Hollywood Mogul 2 info is anymore. Guess I'll try 3's trial again.

despite not liking previous versions of football mogul I went ahead and did both of these things since they were very low on the effort and cost scale. However I still don't see a link anywhere, haven't been emailed a link, really anything.

cant imagine this will be a game that holds any long term interest. But I would definitely play it for a season or so.

Now that I look at it again, it's kind of funny that they request you to like their FB page when they haven't posted to their own wall (except to answer a few question) since June as far as I can see.

edit to add: When the default setting of the page appears to be "posts by Sports Mogul", rather than "Everyone", that makes it appear to be a very dead page.

I for one have the lowest of low expectations - this is something along the lines of playing the free version of angry birds. Not going to capture my interest for long, but not much downside either.

I didn't get the email. Did you have to like Sports Mogul or Football Mogul? I went with Sports, since Football only had 2 people liking it, so I figured that wasn't the one.

after one game I have to say that was a pretty enjoyable game of text sim football. Nowhere near perfect and certainly not a game of great depth - but enjoyable and enough for me to continue playing - proof will be in how the off-season franchise mode goes. Couldn't possibly be as bad a Madden 12's franchise and its 90 second count down free agency.

I got a link. Downloaded. Gave it another shot. Spent a total of 7 minutes with it.

OK, actually 8.

7 minutes to download, install, and determine that it's the same bad game I last played (maybe Mogul 2010?) with new rosters.

1 pondering the question "Ben, why on earth did you spend another seven minutes of your life fooling around with Football Mogul?"

*shurg*
