Hey Alan totally off topic. But is there anyway to make a little more level playing field for budgets? My owner is so stingy he won't agree to anything long range for players. I literally am so hamstrung by him it's not creating a level playing field.

The new file is up! Free Agency starts tomorrow morning.

If you aren't already aware, hitting the meet demand button on a free agent is probably not a good idea reportedly.

I have it set that all money is available and owners don't control budget. If that is not working, log a bug on it with OOTP since that never was a problem in previous versions.

As I mentioned before, with the way owners work in the game, I can level owners manually but there is no way to make it permanent and will eventually become uneven again. I guess I should go through and equalize all owners at some point though because of these issues. This version has been so frustrating for me, mostly because I simply don't have the time to troubleshoot OOTP12 (and evidently neither does anyone else over there!)

Right but with the development budget and that I only have 66 million available to me so I'm really hamstrung. I have no choice but to sacrifice on or the other where as others don't have to.

Yeah I don't think my owner is working right either. I tried to offer a long term contract to someone last season, and even with tons of money available this year, it would only accept me offering a 1 year deal. It kept telling me my owner didn't like the contract.

I understand your dilemma. Is the problem pretty much just exasperated by the player development budget stuff? Since it seems likely the league wants to get rid of that, is that going to solve your issues probably?

Another problem... it seems that the file uploaded to the Game File link under the FOOL sectionof the website is actually the FOOL-x file (for FOOLX) and not the file for FOOL. So we can't download the game in file, and we can't manually download the game from the site.

I think we're going to have to wait until Alan gets up and sees this to fix this.

I guess there was some kind of server issue last night? It looks fine this morning. I fixed the link though on the webpage to point to the new link. Sorry about that!

Looks like the only two exports we are missing are from the late night crew. I don't want to penalize them since the file link was wrong (now corrected).. so I don't have any choice other than to postpone today's sim. We'll push it back a day and sim tomorrow morning. That means a Sunday morning sim this week as well, then back to the normal schedule.

This reminds me of way back in the olden days, when every sim ran late because Chief was busy doing a last minute lineup change....Ahhh the memories!

Interesting. I definietly sent in an export. Nothing game changing so its not a big deal that it didn't go through. Just wanted to note that I did indeed export so the delay was warranted and not a waste of peoples time.

I'll admit, I did not send in an export. I planned to, but I was already over the cap, so I couldn't spend on free agents. I didn't see any minor league FAs just then that I liked, and had no extensions I wanted to sign, so I didn't submit an export after all.

I still needed to see the new file to realize that, though, so I still needed to be able to download it. Oh well...
