Hello everyone,

Well, I almost forgot to start that thread this week and just realized that France must be done with their weekly league game...

This is the thread I will use to lighten my workload of hunting the game ratings for the close to 100 Hattrick members (!) we have on FOFC.

The only thing you need to post here is your team ratings, as it appears on the right side of your league game report. Only the one for your team, the one for your opponent is irrelevant.

As an example, here's what my post for my team's last league match ratings would look like:

Do a simple copy/paste instead of writing it up.
I need everything from the team name to the "Left Side Attack" rating.
Do not alter it in any way (like deleting the "Player rating and Team formation" line because it doesn't look cute).

This is simply because I use this whole thing just as it is. Your team name is need to add your entry in the ratings database and the it is easier to ask excel to ignore the extra line between your team name and the actual ratings than go and delete it everytime I input a team's ratings...

Also, if you make a mistake (like you realize a few hours later that you posted the wrong week), please PM me or repost your rating. DO NOT EDIT YOUR OLD RATINGS. There's a chance that I've already entered your ratings in the database and I might miss the "edit" mention on posts.

At some point on Monday, maybe even in the afternoon, once I'll have copied all the posted ratings, I will post in this thread that I am starting to hunt ratings from Hattrick. At that point, it will be too late for you to post your team ratings. Not that big a deal, it's simply that I don't want to wait for some guys that may not log into FOFC until Wednesday for whatever reason. Posting your ratings should not not take a lot of your time (do it right after reading you game report) but it will same me a lot of time. The Monday night deadline should give ample time to a lot of people to post their ratings.

Finally, comments about your team and the score of the game are welcome and encouraged. As long as your ratings are clearly separated from your comment, I won't have any problems with it.

That was good for a 6-0 win at home to what seems to be (granting that this is only three games in) one of the better teams in my division. I've now won all three matches with a 14-0 goal difference, says something about the quality of the division (currently the 176th best in England's Division VI, according to HatStats). If I can win away to last year's runner-up next week, I have a real shot at promotion.

A terrible 2-2 tie, damn game. My rating was a 46 to their 41. I had a 59/65 possession edge and a better midfield, and still got a lousy point at home. My stadium renovations didn't occur on time. Oh yeah, AND an all day rain killed attendance to boot.

samifan, if I remember correctly, the amphibious one needs the ratings to be "as is" on the game page. If the "Player rating and Team formation" line is edited out, it messes up his parser.

I think therein lies the problem. That's not a good midfield rating at all, and midfield is "the most important" according to Hattrick. You have any transfer $ available to improve it?

RonnieD., well part of my issue may be contributed to my choice of allignment as well, the 5-3-2.

Basically what I'm trying to do is build a team that is outstanding Defensively with a unique style.. kind of like UNLV's Ameba (sp?) Defense from it's '90-'91 teams with Larry Johnson & Co. and Temple's Matchup Zone.

These are my current Formation Experience Levels:

4-3-3: Poor
4-5-1: Poor
3-5-2: Passable
5-3-2: Excellent
3-4-3: Wretched
5-4-1: Wretched

As you can see, the 5-3-2 is becoming a fairly decent prospect for me.. I've used this Formation in 5 of the 6 Matches I've played in since I received my Franchise (I used a 3-5-2 in a recent Friendly Match as well).

I guess what I really need is a couple of good Midfielders, but my question is what do I need to look for in terms of abilities.. What is most important in a Midfielder.. Passing? Playmaking? Scoring? Stamina? Something else? This is where I'm a bit unsure as to what to do.

One good thing is I do have a bit of $$$ to play with, but it is definitely something I don't want to waste. My Fan Support sucks, and right off the bat each week I'm down about $20 Grand. Even with a Home League Match in any given week, I've been unable to make that deficit up and I've ended up in the red at the end of pretty much each and every week thus far.

While it may seem like a good idea to do a kind of defensive thing with your team, my guess is that it will get you killed, seriously. Midfield is way too important to downplay it in a formation, at least it is in Hattrick.

Playmaking is the most important skill for a midfielder, stamina second, then passing and defending in last...
