First pick?

I'm guessing the Bungles will bite the bullet and take Palmer. Or maybe that's just wishful thinking.

But don't let me influence you; I'm sure you all have your own opinions. Make them known here!

A couple weeks ago, I insisted that Rogers was a legit possibility. I have now backed off of that, though I still believe at the time he was. The only way your Lions don't get him is if Houston trades up.

Now I think it will be Palmer. The team is talking $$$ with Palmer, Newman and Leftwich as I type this. I think it will be Palmer, but I would not mind seeing Newman.

I'm really hoping it's Newman or Leftwich. Leftwich was not a one season wonder and really showed some toughness... something sorely lacking in the team that I think Marvin Lewis would like.

That said, these are the Bengals, so it'll be Palmer.

I know we've been bitten by the one season wonder before (Akili) but I would not discount Palmer for that reason alone. He did start for four years (unlike Akili) and during those four years he endured injuries and turnover of head coaches once and O-Coordinators a few times. In his second season of the current system, he put it together this year and tore up some really good teams. Notre Dame, Iowa, Kansas State, and UCLA all had better defenses this year than a collection of the MAC's best defenders. Palmer tore each of them up, blowing out three of them. It was USC's defense that lost the K-State game.

I like Leftwich and think he will be a good pro QB, but I don't buy the one-year wonder argument against Palmer.

The questions of who they're going to pick and who they should are two completely different things...

What they should do is trade down, but there really is no market for that this year.

They should draft Carson Palmer and then trade him for 3 #1 draft picks in the next 3 NFL Drafts.

The the Bengals(cough), I mean Bungals may get somewhere.

I'd like to see the Cowboys draft Kyle Boller.
