I also see taht Yuri has the technical attribute. Don't play him in the rain. I remember reading on one of the hattrick websites that techinical players don't play well in the rain.

I hope everyone can see how addictive the market is...btw...I just sold two passable strikers (one with passable in winger) and netted over 100k...I'm back under 170k!!! WOOHOO

I wish I was out of debt. Since I am training defenders, I would get young cheap defenders and train them.

Pretty soon, the drug pushers are going to wise up, and start providing cheap personel on the hattrick market. Then, they are going to want protection money, to keep your little brother from logging on to your computer and firing your new 17year old excellent goalie....

Havok...i'm not sure if you realize this or not...but players start declining once they reach 28 years old.

That is prolly why you got most of those guys so cheap.

That's true, bbor, but as long as he's not training the areas where they play they're a cheaper first team for him. The fall-offs, from what I've read, aren't dramatic, and are even more delayed with keepers. As long as you keep your eye on them, I think it's a safe and cheap risk.

All i need is some players to get me through the first season or 2 until i get a bigger Arena, more supporter money and good youth pulls. These are all just quick fixes.... there not meant to be on my team for more then a season or 2 max. How many players does DK have on his team that he started with??? not many..... if i get some older guys and win alot now and next season my supporters will be through the roof and ill have a much bigger stadium.

If that goalie and that winger start declining next season i could care less. Ill have alot more money coming in weekly by then. they'll be easy to replace. plus i saw a 32 year old passable goalie go for 65k yesterday and a 30 year old passable goalie go for 78k. getting a 30 year old goalie for 53k is a very good deal. 2 seasons from now i plan on having a solid goalie so i could care less if this guy is dropping off by then.

And like Ronnie said... drop-offs are dramatic... they take time.

I had had a hard time improving the form of some players. They seem to fall even if they are playing in weekly games. This has made me very picky when looking though the tranfer market. I have gone as far as not even buying anyone without at least inad form. I know training general helps, but would hiring more sports psychologists benefit at all?

Those players won't get you through a couple of seasons though. They are too old. When their skill level drops, it can be as much as one level.

we'll see

dont understand why everyone thinks 30 is so old.... hell DK as a 33 year old on his team that hasnt dropped in skill yet. But enough bickering about it. We'll see when the seasons over i guess..... but for right now, im not in debt, im first place in a tough divison, and only getting better.

Ah, no psychologists improve team spirit -- nothing else to my knowledge. What is your training intensity? Mine's at 100% and my team's form stays fairly high, lots of passables and the occasional solids and excellents.

My "A" midfield is 34, 33 and 31 years old. I'm currently training a younger crop, playing these guys when the competition is tough and their form warrants it. The 34 year old is my MoM whenever I play him.

dacman is right, psychologist won't work on your players' form. Straight from the rules book...

<< You can always hire a sports psychologist to boost team spirit, and above all, self-confidence. >>

Question for you dacman: How many physios and assistant coach you got? Do your players suffer a higher percentage of injuries because of that 100% training?

I have 5 physios at the moment and I average right around 1 player injured per match (that includes band-aid only) so its a little high, but I can live with it.

edit: The "standard" 8 assistants, 2 GK coaches

BTW, the form thing is probably related to the hidden form rating. Each player has a hidden form rating that makes it harder/easier and more likely/unlikely to reach higher or lower form levels.

And do you have to compensate injuries with regular doctors on staff?

I lost two players for 6 and 5 weeks respectively in week 1 of league play (about 1 1/2 weeks ago) and decided to hire 3 doctors immediately, as they players were two fairly important players. So far it's been good, as both players are now only 3 weeks away from coming back...

Usually...I'd fire them if I got completely healthy, but that hasn't happened but once in 8+ weeks, so they stick around. I have 2 at the moment.
