Question Here we go again....chem/bio labs found in Iraq?

CNN: U.S. Army: 11 mobile chemical and biological labs, documents found buried near Karbala. Details to come.

They're saying they didn't find any weapons with the trucks, but "about 1000 pounds" of documents.

You know they keep finding all of these labs and documents, but no actual chemical agents or no WMD's.

Saddam has had them taken out of the country I bet.

I still don't like the situation. Something fishy is going on and I just pray and hope that our troops are not being baited into Saddam's death trap.

They are in Andy's closet. Remember the "don't go through my stuff" agreement?

I'm sure we'll find out when we roll our tanks, etc into Syria, and, if we don't find them there, wherever we roll into next after that!

Anyone think maybe this kind of stuff is just the leftovers from when they officially disarmed back in the day? I keep hearing about empty labs and trace amounts of chemical--all signs that would point to there being a stock that was eliminated--and yet little evidence of an active program.

NoMyths - you could very well be right, but I seriously doubt it. A part of the whole iproblem with the inspections process was that Iraq presented no documentation validating that they did in fact destroy their cache of chemical agents. I'm more inclined to believe that this is evidence of a much greater program then we originally imagined. Iraq has been less then helpful and forthcoming, and I'm sure that you would agree with me at least on that point. The fact is that we may have a "smoking gun" as we speak, but we haven't heard about it because the army probably wants to verify it before coming forward with a false alarm. Until then, I want to give them the time they need before making judgments either way. After all, they are still encountering resistance, albeit on a much smaller scale. They probably have more important things on their plate at the present.
