maybe it's a few weeks early to worry about auto-promotion

My 11-0 difference right now would be 0-11 in IV.49.

My 'Shots have sterted out 2-0 also, with a goal differential of 6-1. The even better news is that the two clubs we have beaten both won their other league match, and it already looks like the division might be a two-team race. I'm in second now, but I suspect it might come down to our head-to-head battles.

So, from what I'm reading, my middling little Div V team might actually want to lose out in the division hunt, to avoid being promoted? I'm not sure I like the sound of that, but I'm still learning.

I've already posted my goal for season 20. Not goals, goal.

1. Avoid automatic demotion.

THAT'S ALL! THAT'S THE LIST!!

Even in IV, it would be nearly impossible to get auto demoted since there are occasionly new teams.

My series will be coming down to a 2 team race as well, with two other teams battling for 3rd. After that, everyone sucks.

So, I know I will be going MOTS 3 times this season. (Main compepetitor and last game of season)

Robb, I'm right there with ya 'Bro..

Let me see if I have this right..

7th & 8th Place League Finishers are automtically Demoted.

5th & 6th Place League Finishers play a Qualification Match against a 1st Place Finisher/Champion of a lower Division League, with the Winner getting to play in the Higher Division and loser going to the Lower Division..

- Example - 6th Place Team in V.1 vs. Champion of VI.25
Winner of Match plays in V.1 the next Season, while the Loser plays in VI.25..

There are also 4 times as many leagues in divison IV then in Divison III etc.... etc.....

We are dotting the "Best Team in Div V" ratings on hatstats. Just off the top of my head (I appologize for all I missed):

33 56 W 26.5 Houston Hippopotami
49 54 W 23.5 Galesburg Avengers
57 53 W 25.0 Cedar Pond Horned Toads
60 53 W 23.5 Morrisville Morrisvillians

And I know I'm hanging on in the "100 most expensive teams" but even worse is that the team I'm chasing, in series, is even higher than I am:

62 2,257,000 27 83,593 CC's Dragons
96 2,035,000 24 84,792 Houston Hippopotami

At least we're only 64 out of 256 so our division isn't too hard. It's because we're so top heavy and the bottom half sucks pretty hard.

SI

96 2,035,000 24 84,792 Houston Hippopotami V.62

Alright, so 5th Place on up are all safe, with the League Champion either Automatically moving up or getting the opportunity to play a Qualificiation Match to move up in Division?

The Goal is then to Finish 5th!!

If I promoted right now, I would be in IV.25, with Youth of the Nation, supposing he somehow didn't promote. His NSI was 83 and he has one middie who gets 5 stars and is worth over 2 mil. I'm not all too sure I'm ready for Div. IV.

Ok...any ideas why I can't get HatStats to work? I checked it once at work, and it was fine, but since then I've never been able to get to the site, no matter who posts the link. Any help would be appreciated, since it sounds like a cool site that I'd like to see.

I am 2-0 w/a 10-0 Goal Differential....and in 2nd place. T.Y.Y.P. S.J. has a 17-1 goal differential. I should take him with my A-Team.

I'm two nice youth pulls away from Div IV but I need about $400-$500K before I start thinking about that. I could really use one more nice middie and a solid or better center defender. That and some form corrective surgery for a couple of my players.

Those standings are crap. I have 6 points, and my goal differential is 12-0. Of course I am probably missing something.

So I get those standings now. I was missing something.

Those are the teams that are borderline on having to play a qualification match at the end of the season. If you are above the line, then you wouldn't have to play a qualification match and would be auto-promoted.

I was in IV.25 with Youth of the Nation last season. It was nip and tuck, but I got auto-demoted. There are 2 teams in the div (as of last season) that were marginal. I came in to the season like 4 weeks in, and never cought up to 'em. Came down to the last game of the season though to see who'd get booted.

Not sure if the III demotion is any good or not. That was a rought ass league. Anyway, Youth didn't promote last season because he was played deep into the cup. He was playing his A squad in cup games, and still finished like 2nd playing his back-ups for the better part of the league. He PIC's every game, and is always flirting with POI TS.
