Heh. You have no idea how ironic the timing of this was.
I just got finished playing a paintball scenario game (that I wrote, go me) based on X-Com. So I was hearing lines like 'Probe Hard, Probe Fast', and 'Death to the Sectoid Scum!' allllll weekend. X-Com won, by the way. AND we got to (mind) probe the US Senator who was bought off by the aliens. Muah. |

If I recall correctly, Godzilla Blitz had his doctorate to write, and that it wouldn't be done until May.
Since it is now April, it seems the venom of our sworn enemy has, alas, come a wee bit early. Methinks we may be jumping the gun a bit, but it may not be to far off before we are officially called to return to war? Blitz to confirm? Chief Rum

Why don't we spend the month of waiting beating the alien slime of the Sectoid Leader, and generally jumping up and down on it's body?

Hummm. Bizarre.
Chief's right about the thesis though. Not officially done till May. I wonder who's messing with us? I'll have to get out my X-COM radio and call the base. I'm sure that will clear up the confusion. |

I think that the Sectoid Leader has mind-controlled somebody inside the FOFC X-COM community.
Captain Raven Hawk calls for surprise inspections of all bunks! If I find anything alien related (with the exception of Kodos' bunk), you'll be answering to the business end of my boom stick! Twitch Let's flush this rat out! |

Hummm. Just called the base. Apparently some of the cryogenically frozen X-COM agents are stirring.
Things are getting curiouser and curiouser. I'll know definitely what's happening by late on the 17th, and I'd give us even odds that there will be very good news. I can say this: even in a worst case scenario we should be hunting aliens before Naiwf's birthday bash. |

I'm wondering if GB should start the dynasty over again...i mean it's on the other board and all, maybe it would be nice to have our new x-com dynasty for this board. Plus the other one has already been voted best all time dynasty...it be like Jordan coming out of retirement again. I think if GB wants to start over I'd have no problem with it.
And this has nothing to do with the fact that I died in one of the last couple of missions. Honest. |

Between this and the paintball game, it almost makes me wanna try doing the Suicide Squad again. But...no.
Lemme tell you, after actually attempting to do an X-Com Dynasty, it makes you seriously appreciate how hard it is to do those writeups, especially as cool as GB did. I'll settle for playing my game, and flying the Interceptors. |

No, no! Don't restart! Keep it going!
And this, of course, has nothing to with the fact that I'm one of the few remaining, surviving, inaugural members. And that by virtue of sheer longevity I'm among the leaders in kills. In fact, I think I'll just toss down a few more Fritos while GB keeps sending the rookies in. That's right, GB! "Get them some experience!" Sounds good. Get 'em some plasma fire right down the pie hole, too. My spot on the kills board should be safe.

Good news, men!
Just finished meeting with my grad school advisor, and apparently my thesis is in good shape. I just need to make some minor revisions, and it is done. There'll still be a short busy stretch before orals to finish up some other projects for classes where we'll need to pause again, but for now... Kiss the wife goodbye, pack your stuff, and get your butt to base! The plan: We'll continue on with the old game; I don't know if we'd ever finish if we started over. Sometime over the coming week, I'll play with the formatting of stuff on the new board so I can get posts to look good, then get my head back in the game. Then I'll post a recap, then our big season opener terror mission. If I remember right, things were really starting to heat up, so be ready for action! I might need to stop again for the following two weeks to take my oral exam and finish up some other projects, but then soon after May 6, we'll be back in full swing. I hope then that we'll be able to go at a two mission/week pace until we either rid the planet of the alien menace or die trying. It's been about four or five months since we last had a mission, so I think we should run a check-in/sign-up thread to see who's still in the house. Everyone who's currently in the game as an agent will stay right where they were even if they don't sign up, but I'll clear the waiting list of anyone who doesn't check in over the next week, and if a current agent doesn't check in, we won't put his kid in the game when he dies. Also, anyone is welcome to sign-up, so add your name if you want to get in on the action! Sign up thread coming shortly! Go FOFC X-COM! |
