CM4 EP2 ready.

The second enhancement pack is ready for DL. It is save game compatible but you should start over to get optimal performance.

Man. I worked days on getting my Stevenage career through a few months with all leagues and divisions active. Starting off sounds interesting for the "optimal performance" but giving up what we've already accomplished doesn't. Maybe I will just make a new game to see what happens...but keep the current one saved on standby.

I was under the impression they were going to tweak the ability to sell higher class players. I don't mind that I can't sell garbage, but I've had troubles selling some of my better players from a mid-table Serie A side (Udinese)

It is possible that this is not a complete list, but what they have fixed so far.

P.S.

You gotta check out the General Topic CM4 boards at sigames.com. There's a guy over there, who's got a sceenshot from a formation at the end of the game where it shows a DM playing as the keeper and the team won 5-1. This guy is just ballsitic about it, mind you it's not his screenshot, but one a 'buddy' of his sent him. He's claiming this is finally the proof that the games are pre-determined and SI Games and/or Marc is the only really deciding whether your team is going to win. Any attempts to get him to answer the question of, "How does Marc know you're going to sub your striker, and your sub goes on to score the winning goal?" have gone unanswered. Good times.

I'm with ya. Especially with the wage problem handicapping lower league teams. And as far as I've heard, the list is not final for EP3.

guess i'll play my other new games till EP3 then, hopefully it ends up fixing the striker scoring problem and the score change error. the existance of both sort of makes me not want to play at the moment, which is a shame, because i know there is an amazing game inside waiting to get out.

Why is it when I saw this, I thought CM4 Episode 2? Too much Star Wars on the brain heh.

This one is a good one:

- Monthly installment payments now get paid to the correct team.

Yay! Episode 3 looks pretty good too. I am sure they are working on the forwards thing also.

Also no word on when the match X of Y attributes in the player search section like in CM3 is going to be added. I figure that would be a pretty easy fix and it's important.

Can't wait for the MLS draft to be fixed!

It's too bad this game was released at least two months too early. The list of bugs for EP 3 is not even close to complete as I have seen several in my game that are not even listed.

Like somebody over at the SI forum said: "This is the best game they have ever made, but the worst they have ever released."

I don't know if that's an accurate description of the state of the game or not. I guess the only way to know for sure would be to buy it myself and find out.

But it's a scary enough quote, one that describes a feeling I've had way too many times myself, that it pretty much assures I won't be buying the game until at least another couple of patches are out.

I agree there are a lot of problems that still need to be worked out with the game, but I think part of the problem is that the last couple versions have been so damn good, it makes this one look worse than it actually is. CM4 is not an upgrade of CM3 as the last 3 versions have been, its an enitrely new game built from the ground up. So I'm willing to cut them more slack than I would have if these problems were coming from a game based on CM3.

CM4 is definitely a whole new breed of football management. Granted, it's having teething toubles at the moment, but even with them it's still an improvement on CM3. Once they refine it past the rough edges, it'll be great.

Released two months too early at the minimum. I understand that they want to get the game out there but selling what is basically a beta isn't going to help you pull in new fans. As I'm already a SI convert I know this game is going to be best thing ever once 6 or 7 patches come out but right now I can't recommend CM4 to any of my friends who haven't played CM before.

Despite the problems some people are having, I have played a few months and have not experienced any show stopping events yet. I am managing Stevenage Borough in the English Conference, and have every league and division active in the game with all the England divisions on full detail.

I disagree. If the game had been released two months down the line, most of the bugs present would have still been in place. With a game this complex, you are going to find a ton of bugs when 100,000+ users start playing with dozens of different configurations.

I don't think it is possible to release a totally new Championship Manager game without a number of bugs slipping through the net. SI just has to make sure that the ones that do slip through are not too crippling.

It is not even close to being the worst they have ever released.

That user obviously has never played a previous version of CM. CM 99/00, 00/01 and 01/02 were versions of CM3, so most of the bugs with the game engine had gone by the time the games were released, so the games were very playable out of the box.

The original CM3 on the other hand had many, many more gamekilling problems than CM4. I had dozens of crashes with CM3, and it took several months before the game was stable enough for me to play. I have not experienced a single crash with CM4, so it is already in a playable state and a few tweaks away from being incredible.

But there are major bugs with the initial release (financial system, disappearing goals, no MLS draft, some leagues you can only play one season, etc.). Looking at what will be fixed with EP3 there are still major items that might not be addressed. So it's pretty reasonable to say that this game should have been released at least two months later when these major bugs would have been fixed to begin with.
